As a patriotic American I think it is our duty to make it better than it ever has been. My motto follows this line: "My country right or wrong but when it is wrong lets make it right". That is the job of all Americans after the past 6 years.....and more. I will be very disappointed if nothing changes or if it gets worse.

When I was younger and they had "real" conventions one did not have to have great wealth to run for office and everyone felt their vote counted. No longer. By the time the voting gets to the West the East and the South have already chosen who the next president will be. And living in a red state my vote has never counted anyway. My patriotism is fading away bit by bit.

Yes. Very much so. I am patriotic toward what America stands for in the world. I don't think our reputation is completely down the sh*tter, I think in the future (when we grow a brain an elect some real leaders) America could turn into what it was back between 1900-1960. It was the promise land to nearly half the world back then and I hope we can get even a small portion of that personal sense of pride in our country back.

Being older I can remember the good days when politics were not controlled by the media. The budding television industry was just dabbing in political issues during a major part of my life and so the people had a clearer picture of things. Sometimes ignorance of things permits choices to be easier. Now every time someone stubs their toe the headlines flash across the networks and the story is altered to give support to whoever that network supports. If for instance Kerry stumbled CNN would say he was tripped and Fox would say He fell over his cheat sheet on his position in some issue. That is how this country has fallen into a mire that I question it will be able to rise above. I feel sorry for my children and grandchildren and future generations for they will never know the freedoms I had as a youngster.

I think we have been given great gift by being born here and with it comes a responsibility to try and make this country greater not weaker. Pride in Yourself and your country is much better than pushing negatives around all day.

Americans are taught from the womb to be patriotic. The only people in the US that don't feel this are immigrants and first generation Americans, those whose parents come from another country.

Americans are taught to be patriotic. Many people from other countries don't understand nationalism, but they aren't Americans either.

Being patriotic isn't a choice. It's a way of life.

Most certainly!!

I thank Almighty God, Creator of Heaven and Earth for His Love enough to allow me the oppurtunity to know Him!! And most importantly that He sent His Only Son to die on an old rugged Cross, for me, and all people everywhere!!

God has built America to what She is today!!

God bless!!

I am patriotic to the people of the US, not a political party or the politicians who say they need to be bowed to. The Constitution is the best document ever created by man. People may question my patriotism because I do not support the president's actions, but I believe him to be anything but a believer in the meaning behind the Constitution
