He was honest, sincere, intelligent and compassionate. Unfortunately he didn't get a second term to see his ideas and plans through to fruition, but he has proven himself as our greatest ex-President ever with his continuing diplomatic and humanitarian work around the world.

I would not say that Jimmy Carter was a Great President but I would say that he was a honest man stood up for what he believed in even if others did not agree with him.

What a confused world you live in. Ole Jim was by far the worst thing to happen to the US. Why do you suppose he only served one term in office. With his pathetically week stand on national defense, and his appeasement attitude, oh yea that Iran thing. (half-witted attempt) Which begat the Iran of today. He shut down all intel gathering in the area. We had to ask the Canadians to help. And his dumb-azz brother billy ( doesn't Bill Clinton have an idiot brother as well?) I must strongly disagree with you. jimmy C was a complete waste of time for the US. His name should be stricken from the history books, And any image of him should be burned.

Jimmy Carter is an anti-semite!!

He is the worst president this country has had the misfortune of electing to that high office!

Thank God we had Ronald Reagan around to clean up this man's mess!!

He weakened our country in uncountable ways.

Remeber, the Dow Jones industrial average hit bottom on Aug. 12, 1982, at 776.9, while interest rates were at 15 percent!!!

Most people forget that when Ronald Reagan took office the top tax rate was 70 percent and the capital gains rate was near 50 percent!! The soft money policies of the Carter administration had left us with rising unemployment and inflation rate of 16 percent, (i.e. stagflation.) Trade was virtually shut down because of the mercantilist trade policies of "the left" in the U.S.!!!

WORST.....PRESIDENT......EVER!!!

Jimmy Carter was probably our last honest president. He wasn't all that good for a variety of reasons but he is also not among the worst. If you split the list of presidents (43 of them) approximately in thirds he is at the bottom of the middle third.

James Earl Carter, Jr. is a good and well-meaning man. But he was not a great president, or even a good one.

Among other things, he was an honest man when this country so desperately needed one.
