I believe immigration is a good thing to have a multi cultural community. But mass immigration is becoming suffocating and in my opinion some immigrant's are just coming to the uk and causing trouble.

The past 25 years have been the best stock market for investors in U.S. history. The Dow Jones industrial average hit bottom on Aug. 12, 1982, at 776.9, while interest rates were at 15 percent. Since that date, the compounded rate of return from the last quarter of 1982 until this summer, circa 2007, has been 11.8 percent. Taking into account inflation, the rate of return has been 8.5 percent!!!

Thiswas the result of policy decisions in the 1980s, 90s and more recently - confirming the fact that lower tax rates on capital and labor, sound monetary policies, with open market initiatives and liberalized trade leads to stronger economic growth and rising values in equities.

When Ronald Reagan took office the top tax rate was 70 percent and the capital gains rate was near 50 percent. The soft money policies of the Carter administration had left us with rising unemployment and inflation rate of 16 percent(i.e. stagflation.) (Carter is the worst Prez Ever!)

How can any sane person seriously oppose laissez-faire? Laissez-faire is the self-evident truth that nobody should be coerced by anybody else, even if the coercer's stated motive is that they are doing it for the victim's "own good." It is the self-evident truth that nobody should be restricted from doing any action desired unless that action happens to involve interfering with the rights of another person. How can anybody be against laissez-faire et laissez-passer?

Well, like it or not, 90% of Americans are mixed with Hispanics(mostly Mexicans). So I think Americans should speak Spanish too.

What's up with this guy? He says he's a lawyer, he's a prosecutor, he's an expert on everything - and he always has massive votes for his answers, even when he's the only answerer, and even when his answer is wrong, or even when he says I agree with someone else.

And he's a "top contributor" - give me a break!

i do not even know why the topic of illegal immigration has been blown up the past year or two
because it's nothing new
but it seems to have revealed alot of bigotry
in general but more so for religous people
why do people act as if their lives and way of life is so superior to anybody else
it's truly insane
that is devilish behavior

you're not thinking all the way through

When Pythagoras said the earth was round, he was slandered by the greeks and the early christian church. They said that god made the earth flat.

When Nicolaus Copernicus said the sun was the center of the universe, not the earth, he was called crazy by the Church. They said god made earth the divine center of the universe.

When Galileo published and proved Copernicus' theory, the vatican burned his work, threatened him with death, and put him in prison. They said he was wrong and that he was condemned by god.

When modern day scientist proved that the earth was much much older than the church had taught. They were told that they were wrong.

The christians have constantly over time pushed away fact and science and then accepted them by changing their bible and the teachings of their god.

Wouldn't if be safe to assume that political choices should never be made by religious belief since religious belief seems to be nothing more then a blind following? That they should be made with freedom of choice and morals considered. So, wouldn't it make sense to vote for someone (religious or not) who makes decisions on what's best for the people and not the religion? In that sense, it rules out all presidential candidates except for Ron Paul (who is very religious, he just doesn't base vote off of it) and some democrats. So, it seems that the most intellegent choice for president (when it comes to whats right for the people) is outlined. I guess the bottom line is, if you're religious, don't base your vote on your religion. Base it on what is best for the country in a whole (consider poor, rich, different creed, sex, color, origins). As a patriot, who would you vote for? Selfishly for yourself, or for the well being of all citizens?

My friend and former roomate has been in the hospital for over a month because of a critical pregnancy and the doctors are hoping to avoid delivery for at least another month. As a result, no one has been at her house to receive her subpoena to small claims court (her boyfriend is at work or with her). I'm assuming the server got my address from public records as her most recent former address. He has been to my house looking for her several times. He threatened to leave it on the doorstep as a form of legal delivery until I told him she didn't live here. Once he said he knew she had mail coming to my address (not true, except for the very occassional piece of junk mail, she hasn't lived here for almost 5 years) and now I'm wondering if he's looking through my mail. He showed up at 7:30 am today and threatened to tell the judge I wasn't cooperating. Is there any legal penalty to myself or her for not taking this subpoena? She wouldn't be able to attend the court date now anyway.

I've heard some people say, "They're demanding that we speak their language." Granted, usually those are privileged white people who never talk to Mexicans.

But, I've never met a Mexcian who demanded that I need to speak Spanish.

Have any of you?
