Have you filed your claim or did you leave that to the military? Did you use the VFW or American Legion to help you with your VA claim?
The actual answer is between 6 months and 3 years. Depends on the claim's complexity, accuracy, completeness and the state you filed with.
If you haven't done so yet go see a Veteran's Services Officer at one of your local veterans associations like VFW or American Legion.
