How many would like to see a documentary that compares the health care of a US Soldier that returned from Iraq to that of an Iraqi citizen? The US provides better health care to Iraqis than we do to our senior citizens who have worked their entire lives. I don't think that we need socialized medicine but I also don't think that my mother, who worked her entire life and lost her health insurance when my stepfather passed away, should lose her home to pay for health care either. Curious to see other points of view on the subject.

Seems like everytime we have a republican in office, this country goes to hell. And who are the morons who voted for Bush a second term? STUPID! This country has a DEMOCRACY, this is not the REPUCLIC of America. Always choose a DEMOCRAT! Republicans only care about themselves and making as much money as possible, democrats help the poor.

I tend to be pretty left wing towards most politics, but I find this behavior deplorable. I am all for impeaching Bush and Cheney, but I think her behavior as of late is very egotistical.

I do agree with lieberman on this front... how about you?

I want to know what she has done for the people of her state and for the country (and I'd also like to point out that she voted yes on the most recent amnesty bill). What has she done that makes her deserve our vote?

http://www.wfp.org/country_brief/hunger_map/map/hungermap_popup/map_popup.html

Take a look at this map... it lists the countries of the world according to the percentage of their populations that suffer from hunger and undernourishment.

Now take a look at this one:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/2e/Net_migration_rate_world.PNG

This one shows the "net migration rate" by country. Countries in blue are receiving immigrants, while countries in red are sending them.

If you look carefully, you'll see there is a clear correlation between the two maps.
Countries that appear in green in the first map (very low undernourishment) are receiving immigrants. Countries that appear in yellow, orange or red (moderate and high undernourishment) are sending them

The immigration issue is happening because of two reasons:

Firstly, as I have shown above, the crippling poverty and hunger in most of these countries.

Secondly, our unwillingness to punish corporations that hire illegals.

Try to socialize thinking? I mean they can't think on their own, so when will they try to tell us that thinking is bad for us and we should just leave that up to the government.

After all, what he does with his penis is certainly his business and not under Congress's jurisdiction. The President is as entitled to have sex as any other man on earth. Adultery, while morally reprehensible, is not illegal in Washington, D.C. Yet Clinton was interrogated under oath about his adultery. How would Republicans have reacted if he'd invoked executive privilege and refused to answer questions?

Think they'd have just shrugged their shoulders and walked away like they want Dems to do over this federal attorney issue?

Certainly the President is allowed to have privacy about the activities of his penis, if he's allowed to have privacy about his reasons for firing his subordinates, yes?

It seems like people think that if we don't give them citizenship they will all eventually announce that they are illegal and be willing to go back to Mexico. They won't do that. They will just stay here like they've been doing wasting our tax money. If we give them citizenship we get taxes. If they have already brought down the salary of our jobs giving them citizenship will not bring it down anymore. Also, you need people to do the lower class jobs. In this country all the people mostly have good jobs but, you need people willing to do stuff like working in factories and on farms-this is why we are sending all our jobs over seas but, if we get these illegal immigrants to do these jobs then, we have people doing them here and it won't mess up our economy because the people are living and buying things here helping our economy-not China's economy. Also, if we don’t give them citizenship we will have millions of undocumented people here. Also, another problem we have is entitlements and the working class has to pay for the huge baby boomer population when they get into retirement. It would help if we got more of a working class to pay for this. (read more here http://www.understand2008.com/standard.aspx?elid=78)
To summarize
They are wasting our money by not paying taxes.
You need people to do lower class jobs.
They will continue to stay here even if we don’t give them citizenship.

We must give them citizenship-it is the only realistic solution.

Also, last time I asked this people said that giving them citizenship is like surrendering. I don’t think it is because there punishment would be paying a fine and other requirements. This is actually more like a compromise.
