Politics! That is the way it is run, and always has run! It isn't about what you think or I think!
Two incumbent Republican Congressmen in my state were both thrown out of office in 2006, one by a completely unknown!
Sen Sununu and Gregg are up for election in 2008, and have always been Bush's lapdogs, but they see the handwriting on the wall! They are both gone in 2008 and will be replaced by Democrats.
We are tired of this war over oil and body bags coming home every single day for almost 5 years! This has nothing to do with terrorist, and only involved Saddam, who was put into power by the CIA, because he took 3 large oil contracts away from US company's and gave them to France and Russia!!!

Easy.
They are seeing which side their bread is being buttered on--and they don't want to down with Bush in the polls--and endanger what slim chances they have of holding onto their jobs in 2008.
Unfortunately, that's EXACTLY what's going to happen.
The PEOPLE are seeing Bush and the minority GOP as being obstructionists for change and progress after the mid-terms--and they aren't too happy about that.
Some will hold out, out of blind loyalty to the President--and not to the will of Congress or the people they are supposed to represent.
Call them hard-core supporters: Stupid to the last man.

Because they are not eligible for unemployment insurance. The ones who are still backing the war are unquestionably being paid to do so, and probably paid well, since they will most likely be out of their jobs in January 2009.
