The long and short of it is is that he believes we can win this war... that congress should not stand in the way of allowing us to win the war.

I do agree with lieberman on this front... how about you?

I believe Joe Lieberman is a rare breed of politician who speaks his mind regardless of any political backlash.
The democrats threw him under the bus when he returned from his fact finding tour in Iraq and suggested that progress was being made. He then trounced their candidate after switching to an independent ticket - proving he has a lot more support than the media or left wing zealots would want you to believe. He is one democrat who realizes the gravity of the Islamic agenda of hatred and domination - and he has the guts to confront the threat.
Obviously, like you, I agree with his assessment.

The Police Action (not a war) could be won very quickly. Lieberman and any reasonable politician knows this-But like Paul Harvey and the rest of the story--you can't win a Police Action!! You can only win if you fight no holds barred! You can't worry about political fallout-collateral damage-civilian deaths or religious shrines that are off limits. All these things are in a politically correct "Police Action"!! Turn the troops loose and it will end--let the politicians continue to interfere and many more will die!! USMC 60-68

I read a story today about the killing at the Red Mosque in Pakistan. Children were in there being brainwashed by these radical nuts for God's sake! Former prime minister Benazir Bhutto said, "I'm glad there was no cease-fire with the militants in the mosque because cease-fires simply embolden the militants," "There will be a backlash, but at some time we have to stop appeasing the militants. We can't afford to keep appeasing them." He is absolutely correct to say we have to be tough on the terrorists.

Lieberman is correct. We are fighting a ruthless enemy and to give up would just give strength to them. Congress knows this, but they do it for political gain. Thankfully Lieberman is above all that, he should be commended.

Lieberman is one of the few it seems that have principles and will stand by them even if they become unpopular over time. And what did the democratic party do? Reject him. Principles arent welcome int he democratic party, only the thinking of the day which changes day by day opinion poll by poll.
