I would like details on current news in the united nations, up to around 3 years old. I don't know much about the current workings of the UN right now so the more information/links the better.

This is for a social project asking if the united nations is needed. I'm making a political cartoon for this so strongly biased opinions are appreciated!

It was just announced on my local news channel that our Gov. made an agreement with Mexico City to hire teachers for our local schools. The new teachers will be paid 8,000 more than "American" teachers and will be given a moving compensation package. Since when is this right? He, the Gov, claims that it will bring more Hispanic parents to conferences and boost the overall education of the Hispanic students. Utah already spends less per students than any other state, so why do we need to "import" our teachers? Does my son really have to pay the price? He is currently in a 90% hispanic school that uses dual immersion (half the class in Spanish, and the other half in English--covering the same material)? Isn't this breaking some national law?

They've been saying Iraq was a mistake but how many have actually claimed partial responsibility without saying, "Bush told us lies" blah blah blah. If Bush is as big of a fool as they say then they should be really ashamed they were tricked by a fool. How many truly honorable democrats are in Congress and openly admit their mistake without passing off the blame on someone else?

There are enough things to criticize Bush about like Iraq and the way he handled Katrina. Why are liberals wasting time criticizing him for not calling the pope "Your Holiness" or calling the government ,"My Government". Why don't these liberals spend time worrying about real problems?

This is complicated. I'm here in Germany, married to a German woman. We have a apartment here and she will continue on living here while I am in the US and out at sea because she has work... and a life here. I understand that housing is usually paid for, but only if you are living in the same housing.

Does anyone know if the rent will be paid here in Germany because that is what's important for now? I have had several differant people tell me several differant things, including recruiters.

Wouldn't the term "right-wing fundamentalist christian values" be more appropriate?

The way they say "judeo-christian values" you'd think jews shared the values and politics of the religious right.

THEY LARGELY DO NOT.

Over 90% of jews in congress are Democrats or side with Democrats. 87% of jews in America voted for Democrats in the last election

http://web.israelinsider.com/Articles/Politics/9818.htm

Is it because jews and christians both believe in Old Testament stories? That makes no sense either. Muslims believe in the same stories too. They believe in Abraham, and Noah, and Cain, Adam and Eve, and even Jesus. Muslims in fact believe Jesus was the messiah and a prophet. Jews don't even believe that.

Might as well use the term "judeo-christian-islamic" values.

What do you believe. If you ask me well I think its a big mistake. You dont give free rides to illegals, our government is making a mistake. You dont give citizenship to illiegals who have no business here.

I find this interesting, simply because violent video games have always been blamed for increase in violence. In teens especially, the idea that a violent game caused a rise in violence is laughable. Overall what do you think, do you agree or disagree?

This chick I know is a total dumbass and she keeps arguing with me about this. She says that (in virginia) if a minor and an adult engage in sex more than three times it can be considered consensual. There's no way that can be right, right?

Regarding the no confidence vote for Gonzalez, Bush said:"They can have their votes of no confidence, but it's not going to make the determination about who serves in my government,"

Last I checked, it was OUR government, not his. He works for us, ALL of us. Isn't he an arrogant little twit?

For example, cons say social programs don't work period. Seems to me cons live in a faith based reality. They will believe certain ideas regardless of the facts.

They say JFK/LBJ's war on poverty did nothing and in fact increased poverty. The FACTS say other wise. The poverty rate was nearly cut in half between 1960 and 1968. It went from 22.2% to 12.8%. The next big drop was under Clinton. It went from 14.8% to 11.3%. The biggest drop of course was probably under FDR. No data for him unfortunately.

We need you now more than ever before, Americans. Please, attend! We cannot let them think they can all get away with this. Tell everyone you can about what's going on (SPP, NAU, New World Order) and please attend. We are facing our own demise if we allow the illegals, big corporations and corrupt politicians to continue on this track of selling out our people and our livelihood

Ok peace breaks out - I know hard to imagine

Who would lose ?

Ok whoever that is/was - they would "win" the most if we kept on fighting

Now - here is an idea - why don't we just get rid of the people who would lose if peace broke out ?

Fire them - ship them off to an island buy them a spaceship - whatever

Why can this not happen

Lets hunt down the people who would lose big time if peace was to break out and remove them ?

My husband and I own a profitable business. I am currently pregnant with our third child. He has been reading about the benefits the guard offers and is now talking about meeting with a recruiter. One benefit that interests him is additional training which he might not take the time to do on his own. Also the medical benefits would be nice, since we are self-employed currently. We don't believe in the war, but he would do what he is told to do if he joined. Are there any huge downfalls to the National Guard?

Just about 40 minutes ago I had just got comfortable on my couch after a sweaty, hot hard day of work and the nex thing I knew 5 gun shots were fired by someone in a car. By the time I looked out the window the car was out of sight and all the neighbors were on their porches wondering what had just happened. I live in Gainesville, Georgia, Hall county. This is not the first time a peace officer has been called and not shown up. My neighborhood is 90% hispanic, although I have been here for 11 years, and my landlord has been in the house {duplex he owns] for 50 years, he is 88. He is the one that called, and they still treat it as nothing, what would you do about the sorry police dept. I beleive that the police depts are the ones who turn a town into gang related war zones when they do not respond to serious calls such as this. We have hispancic cops that can ask questions of my neighbors, why are they taking this so lightly. I am so dissapointed by these no good cops!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was told that it is possible to borrow money from my pension plan to pay off debt. I was under the assumption that you could use 10K for a first time homebuyer and not be taxed or pay out penaties. Does anyone know about this sort of thing. I am also not sure if it is a 401K but it is a pension plan. Does it depend on my company?

So-called rogue countries all over the world. Many have high technology. As good as the United States or better. We have spent so much time, money and energy on Iraq and Afghanistan.
So who do you think - amongst all of the 'rogue countries' we hear so much about--are glad for the distraction, and are keeping an eye on us?

WTF! It really, i mean REALLY, pisses me off when you are being accused of racism because you oppose to illegal immigration. Now, lets consider leftist logic. A person regardless of the color of his/her skin illegally crosses a border without obtaining proper documentation to stay in the country lawfully. Since majority of illegals are Mexicans, leftists assume that opposition to illegal immigration is caused by racial prejudice against Mexicans. Now, how retarded a person must be in order to make such a conclusion? I mean, hello, it's not a race issue, it's about entering the country illegally. When will leftist bigots learn to think logically??
