I am buying a house in a new development in austin that everyone wants to get in, so the company held a lottery to setup a list of who would get first dibs on available lots. so i was told I drew #6, and i had a meeting with the builders, selected a lot, a basic house design, prequalified for a loan, signed the contract, and paid the earnest money. Then after arranging an appointment with the builder's designer for more specific exterior/interior colors, flooring, kitchen etc., my i get an e-mail from the builders saying they made a mistake and i was actually #126 on the list instead of #6. The e-mail said to stop payment on the earnest money check and that the builders would pay any stop payment fees and/or refund the earnest money.
Basically am i getting screwed? Is there anything we can do? I ask because we signed the contract but they builders are saying they didn't sign the contract so there is no contract. Does it make a difference that they cashed my earnest check?

The one thing the United States can never do is back the same President. We came awful close with George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and John F. Kennedy, but the first admidistration was plagued by haunting remains of anti/,Revolutionary's Lincoln never won back the South, and John F. had pulled this country to its closest the day he was shot and killed. Is this our strentgh or our weakness. Are we going to continue to seperate our values of our leaders? Ronald Reagan easily stole my grandfather's ( a true blue teamester, Demorcrat all the way....) vote away from his party because as he put it, " He is one tough cowboy" for years I debated with him for casting such a careless vote, never once had he agreed. Isn't loyality a wonderful quality?

Why is it wrong to not want religion and government combined? I think it keeps it fair to all of the religions in this country. For me it is either all religions or none. The U.S. just has too many religions and we could never satisfy everyone. It leads to arguments. I just think we should keep it out . Then one religion will not be superior to any other.

On my way home I always try to make sure that I obey the speed limits and the traffic laws in this one town that has 2 police officers but no Stop Light. So I go through the caution light and continue on doing about 35 mph when I come up to a police officer in front of me doing about 25 to 30 mph so I slow down knowing that the town is about to end and he will either pull off or turn around and he does pull off of the road at the 55mph sign on the edge of town. Then he pulls back into traffic with flashing lights, passes another vehicle and chases me down outside of town. When he gets to the door he asks me if I have been drinking and I tell him no, then tells me that I was tailgating him and that It is not smart to tailgate a cop. He then demands to see my DL, Insurance and Registration. He gives me two tickets 1 for driving to close the other for an out of date insurance card and says that he could give me another ticket. I have never had a ticket and thought this was excessive.

Ok say i came up with an inventions like
a car engine that runs on air or something
but i dont want to sell the right to just honda or just BMW
is it legal to sell them the right to use it but not sell it to another company so I still own it. So they pay me a first payment like 300 million dollars and then 30% of the profits they make on each of the cars they sell with my engine.
But then I do this with like 45 other car companies?

These spiders were genetically mutated by a doctor who in the movie actually cared more about those damn spiders than he did about human lives.

At the end when he died, someone else comes along and tells one of the heros of the movie that they're gonna cover it all up and report that the people who got attacked by the spiders and were injured suffered "hallucinations".

That's totally wrong. Their friends and family members of the injured and killed have a right to know the truth about what really happened.

If this happened in real life, wouldn't the truth defintiely be exposed and the injured people and the family of the ones killed have justice, the truth revealed and a lucriative financial compentasation?

Like I said, that ending really bothered me and really upset me.
