Listen to Air America for about 3 days. If you are not checking yourself into a sanitarium, then you are a liberal and will continue to listen.
I honestly tried to listen for 3 days. I could not take all the hate America, hate Bush, Americans are stupid attitudes. It really is very infuriating to listen to people who hate so much.
Some of the answers here talk about how much Rush and the right hate. To this day, I have never heard Rush say he hates any person or any American ideal or America itself. He has a unique ability to demonstrate the absurd by being absurd. Trouble is that it is so easy to make fun of liberals because they are so completely absurd.
Example:
Think about all those liberals who think the 9-11 attacks were done by the US government so Bush would have a reason to invade the Middle East for all the oil. Well, think about what Bush said. He used the intelligence gathered by various US agencies to make his decision. Well, his biggest source of that intelligence was the CIA which was run by George Tenent at the time. Tenent was a Clinton appointee. So does that mean the Clinton was the one who helped orchestrate the attack with Clinton? Absurd by being absurd.

I don't get it. There are so many conservative talk shows, yet there are very few that show the other side.
I'm sure you'll get answers like "Air America is for commies and anti-American vermin", etc., but considering the administration's current standing on the war and immigration, I'm surprised more people aren't trying to understand both sides.
All perspectives need to be considered in order to form educated, informed decisions.

Air America failed because they had no facts to back up their rants. Obviously many of the former employees are spending their time at YA - still short on facts to back up their "opinions". Also, listening to talk radio, without the benefit of something to look at, as on TV, requires a bit more concentration. Air America's listeners just couldn't quite keep up and deserted the program for The View, Springer, Yolanda, etc., and following the lives of Paris Hilton and Brittany Spaniel.

Why do people on the right keep claiming that Air America failed? I listen to it almost everyday. How would that be possible if it failed?
P.S. Janeane Garofalo hasn't been on Air America for over a year.

It hasn't completely failed. It still broadcasts. It is in bankruptcy currently, and may rise like the phoenix. Just as Chrysler did, but it won't be getting a federal bail out package. Because it's not that important to the overall well being of the economy.

Air America failed for the same reasons the United States Football League failed: Money and organization. They had neither, and the opposition did. All Air America had was the truth, something the opposition has never had. And, on November 4, 2008, it won't matter, as America completes its national memory recovery that began in 2006, and remembers it's a liberal country after all.

FACT: Rush Limbaugh has anywhere from 20-30 million listeners weekly, and 5-10 million listeners at any given moment throughout his broadcase. Why it is that a liberal talk radio show can't earn even a fraction of those rating should be obvious!

Air America failed because it was boring and full of lies. Rush and Hannity speak the truth that is why they are so popular.

Al Franken didn't have the drive and passion that Rush has. Frankin was (is) a good comedy writer. Rush is real.

Did the Airhead America guy ever pay back that cash stolen from the Boys Club that they used to stay afloat? That story didn't get too much play in the NY Times, big surprise.
And besides, who really wants to listen to some bitter, angry **** like Jeaneane Garafolo blabber all day? And whatever happened to Al Frankenstein? Is he making Stuart Saves His Family 2?
