the US has experienced. Here are my choices. Please give a breif statement to support your choice.

Best
-------
George Washington - Father of the Country.

Abe Linclon - Man of peace who freed the south.

F D Roosevelt - Help the US out of the Depression.

Ronald Regan - Help boost the US Economy .

Worst
---------
J F Kennedy - Drama in his personal life effected his duties in office .

Lyndon Johnson - Escalated the Vietnam war .

Richard Nixion - Impeached.

George W. Bush - Should be impeached. He had very poor emergency responses to US emergencies, and is way too involved in foriegn affairs.

We want people to spend lots of money, time, and research finding cures to disease, illness, etc.

So if a company spends hundreds of millions of dollars to research a drug, nearly $1 Billion to get it FDA approved, they have only 7 years to make back their investment and make a profit (not to mention marketing and other costs).

However, if someone spends a few days writing a song and $1000 to record it, they get those rights for 75 years.

If you're trying to make a buck, doesn't it make a lot more sense to go into the record business than pharmaceutical business?

I realize that your first reaction is probably "they make tons of money and drugs should be available for everyone", right?

However, we're not aligning our motivations. We want companies to create life-saving drugs, but at the same time we're making it so there's a lot of risk with little relative reward.

at this rate there will be fewer and fewer people making life-saving drugs.

Anyone else see this?

Well, communist america your dictator president got doped
up on crack and and this Idea

"Wait Until He Nukes Iran. / "Neocons have convinced themselves that nuking Iran will show the Muslim world that Muslims have no alternative to submitting to the will of the US government. Insurgency and terrorism cannot prevail against nuclear weapons. Many US military officers are horrified at what they think would be the worst ever orchestrated war crime. There are reports of threatened resignations. But Dick Cheney is resolute..."

As they say here in bush county, "Kill 'em and Grill 'em" and
"I want his ears Pa".

when dealing with possible terrorist suspects?
My reasoning in favor of this alteration is that the US has never dealt with terrorism at this capacity and this level. I believe (as a conservative and a crime control activist) that the rights of suspects that have been charged or could possibly be charged should be limited and restricted.
What are your thoughts on this? Should terrorist suspects have the same rights as you and I in our Criminal Justice system both domestically and internationally?

I have a friend who's looking to get in to law inforcement. They've got the polygraph coming up and are being told they should lie about doing drugs 13 years ago. They haven't touched a drink or drugs for 13 years and don't know what to do. I suggested that they tell the truth and that they won't be judged for mistakes they made that long ago but is this opinion correct or should my friend lie?

No, it was not George Washington.
Under The First Articles of Confederation (effective 1781-1789) there were 8 others elected, each serving to one year terms.
Washington was only the first president under the new Federal Constitution.
The very first president of the U.S. was John Hanson.
This would mean George Bush, Sr. is number 49 and George bush, Jr. is number 51.

Hello all, as most people know it is the end of the school year and good old senior prank time. One of the oldest 'tricks' in the book at my school is to pull the fire alarm over and over again (yes, it's pretty lame).

Well, it happened a few days ago and in an effort to prevent the thing from being pulled again, after returning inside from the second alarm the administration told everyone in the building to ignore the alarm if it sounded again, and that we would be notified if there was a real emergency...

I have a huge problem with the school saying this... the fire alarm is required by law in large public places, isn't it? How can the school administration just tell 1600+ people to ignore an alarm? If there really WAS a fire, wouldn't the principals be risking lives by spending valuable minutes trying to find out if there was a real fire or not?

By, the way I live in Connecticut if it makes a difference.

(If possible, please cite the source of the answer, thx)

I'm persian, 18, living in tehran the capital. From my childhood, the time that i knew myself, i was interested in United States and its awesome people and its great history.
From then on, i always, watch American Movies, Channels, Games, Matches, etc. I always go to American Websites on the internet. I also celebrate American Holidays, halloween, thanksgiving and Fourth of July. I know much about U.S.A. and its history and i've read a lot of books about it. Believe it or not, i even have the flag of the U.S.A. in top of the wall of my room and also the Map of U.S. Every football game, like Dallas cowboys or every matches, when the national anthem of the U.S plays, i stand and put my hands on my heart and don't speak, and i respect it. So i wanna move to the USA but i don't think that ambassadors give me a permanent visa, but that's not fair, i lost a lot of uportunities in iran, because i focused in this. What should i do? i broke all the bridges behind. I can't go back. PLZ help.

As a conservative who is outraged at our lack of border security and immigration reform over Bush's 6 years in office, it seems to me he gave the Hillary EXACTLY the bill she wanted. Amnesty for 12 million illegals. Still a border that is as porous as ever, and to top it off, a guest worker program. Bush has never been conservative. Never really tried to be. But when he turn into a liberal? And where was I when it happened?

everyone thinks that he's the worst pres. we have ever had. "he's breaking the law, he's killing our troops" bla bla bla. first of all, that wire tapping, what a great idea!!! if he can track terrorist from this, great!!! stop it befor it happens. tace the call and put a 50 cal, right between their eyes.
"he's killing out troops" thats just bull. i have a total of 7 years in the middle east. sure alot of troops are crying. but they signed up for it!! let them cry. if you read into this alittle more, i he's also making a statement. he's letting everyone know that if your even thinking of messing with the u.s you'll pay the price. has anyone seen any planes crashing into buildings? any bombs on u.s soil? no! they have tried and been cought befor it could happen.
i don't really think alot of you have the right to even talk about it unless you have been in the armed forces, been shot at or seen your friends die. just sit at your computers and complain.
