Why are you attacking Fred Thompson's freedom of speech? Does your opinion that he shouldn't have free speech rights make you a wealthy mason?
We really want to know...

I love it that someone running is going to stand up this time to Moore, I really had a problem that Bush/Cheney did not stand up to the lies of Moore before. If Thompson will stand up when things like this occur and hit Moore's other lies like the state of health care in other countries, that might be a biggest enough reason for me to support Fred.

Poor judgement is way too often mistaken for freedom of speech these days. If the politicians in both parties would grow up and quit all this childish finger pointing and focus their attention on actally getting something worthwhile done America would be a better place. I wonder what the percentage of Americans who are fed up with our elected officials acting like 1st graders is. Maybe we'll find out election day.

Well Michael Moore likes Carter and Moore is an idiot?
caldude1010101 - It is NOT illegal to smoke a Cuban cigar, so long as it's a Pre-Castro cigar. He can be given a cigar from Cuba, so long as it was not purchased by any American citizen. Moore went to Cuba to try to prove that the detainees at Gitmo were getting better health care than the average American citizen. Funny how he is doing THAT and the rest of his pundits are saying we abuse the inmates and that the inmates are not getting ANY fair treatment. The left even contradicts itself! lol!

I don't really know anything about Fred Thompson. But I know about Michael Moore. Freedom to speak half-truths but present them as the truth is a little sketchy. Michael Moore's movies are full of "facts" that are skewed to fit his agenda, yet they are still categorized as documentaries.

Attacking Michael Moore is within HIS freedom of speech rights. He doesn't owe you or Moore to remain silent. Nor do any of us. Michael Moore's behavior is seditious and contemptible. His ideology has become more important than his nation, and his behavior is the most UN-patriotic I have ever seen short of all-out treason.
At the same time, threatening someone with being put into a mental hospital is different from thinking that Moore SHOULD be put in one, but if he did threaten Moore with it, then there is more than one individual of the two that has been unpatriotic. Freedom of speech comes first.
I get tired of people claiming that if you speak against their views, you are against their free speech. Nonsense. We have free speech, too.
It's no longer "cool" to be anti-American. It's no longer "cool" to be seditious (against ANY representative).
It CAN be patriotic to disagree/dissent/protest if it is done non-seditiously and with the primary goal of putting the country (not your ideology) first.
Michael Moore doesn't do that. Fred Thomson does.

I don't care for Thompson - but how is it if Thompson is using his right to free speech wrong if he disagrees with how Michale Moore uses his? Just because Thompson is running for president doesn't mean he can't criticize others for being in his opinion fools.
Good Luck!!!

I think the Republicans want Michael Moore involved in the election, there are enough democrats that will not vote for the candidate that he supports it will cost them the election again.
But then again, Kerry still would have lost.

Your spelling is pretty poor. But anybody who criticizes Michael Moore can't be all bad.

I have not heard of this, but even as a Democrat, I recognize that Moore gets on everyone's nerves sometimes. He serves n important role in our society, though. It is necessary to have people on the fringes of any issue so that we hear more than just the middle line.
