The entire premise of your question is absurd. First, there is no such thing as a "multi-billionair company". Companies are not individuals in the actual sense. Most corporations are publicly owned, which means that the stock holders or share holders benefit from the profits - that's people like you and me. Even if you don't own any individual stocks, you are still a share holder if you're putting any money in a mutual fund, 401k, etc. Corporations already get taxed at a very high tax rate. I believe that it's about 35% or higher. Corporations don't pay taxes - people do. When you take money or profits in the form of taxes from a public or private corporation, these monies have to come from some place. So, the corporations pay for taxes or increases in taxation through lower salaries & bonuses to employees, fewer benefits, and higher prices to consumers. My friend, you desperately need a basic course in economics 101 and history. What you are proposing or asking is simply Socialism and it doesn't work. We've been funding the war on poverty since LBJ's Great Society, and we have not solved the problem. Government throwing money at problems doesn't solve them. Sure, it sounds good and may make you feel good, but it simply doesn't work. The Soviet Union tried it already, and their Centralized, Socialist economy collapsed. Mao also tried something similar (Great Leap Forward) in China, and all he did was successfully and systematically starve millions of his own people to death.

It would be disastrous.
Taking that large of a percentage of companies' profits would remove all incentives for these companies to continue to produce.
It would literally ruin the U.S. (and world) economy. Aids, cancer, NASA, and global warming wouldn't be much of a problem if much of the country was starving.

those African international locations in prefer have had greater money donated to them because of fact the top of colonialism than grew to become into ever placed into them for the period of colonialism. because of rampant political correctness and uncomplicated mis-administration the money is burned by utilizing corrupt leaders. So no, dumping greater money is a futile waste -it extremely is all! a similar is going for public colleges. The entrenched directors will basically waste the money on idiotic beef mutually as ignoring the scholars. greater money is spent in line with student in the U.S. than in the different us of a even regardless of the undeniable fact that it would not trickle down. in my view i'm VERY bored with seeing my tax money burned in the type of distant places help and public practise. My ideas are no longer very universal and that i'm confident i gets a great number of thumbs down yet here they're: return to colonialism in Africa and privatize the practise equipment in the U.S.

The USA spends already more money on research and education then anybody else. The problem is, that the money is not used very efficient and ends up in the wrong hands for the wrong reasons. Quality is more worth then Quantity (Money). Our politicians have no time to really change our way of handling things, they are way to busy talking to lobbyist and cashing in.

It would be nice but don't hold your breath. You'll only pass out. If every large company paid the fair share of taxes due instead of getting complete tax breaks we'd all be better off. But the politicians won't take that chance as it is many are going to other countries to pay even less in taxes than we ask for, how are you going to fix that one?

Certainly the gov't would benefit. What you describe is just another tax.
However many millions of investors, including retired people and those saving for retirement, would be severely hurt as their retirement plans are essentially defunded by this.

NO!! You're taking away a persons incentive to get into businesss. People are in business to make money. That's it. No other reason. If they can donate and help a good cause along the way then that's great. But first and foremost they are in busines to make money.
