I'd say that it's just the opposite.
If you don't vote, you have no right to complain. :)

I think so. I can think of my family for instance. They never watch a debate, rarely read anything that has to do with politics and basically for the most part just vote for the person that is against abortion. That is completely simple minded in my eyes since abortion shouldn't really even be a political issue in the first place. I don't recall a President in recent times ending it do you? So yes from what I have seen most are simple minded voters that don't know the facts.

I think it's safe to say that most voters are not up to speed on the issues in general. Also, too many are single issue driven. Usually, despite all of this, the consensus does form some kind of a general intellect, because of the massive range of views taken into account. Does that make sense?

NO!! Some are extremely loyal to their parties. Others allow their religious believes to come into play when voting. There as so many different issue which are covered in politics. Very few people can say they agree 100 percent with everything the party they voted for stand for or believes.

Those who vote with conviction and belief in their candidates are not simple minded.
But those who vote for a party ticket without any knowledge of their candidates are simple minded.
Those who don't vote need to shut up and live with the consequences of their lack of action. They generally are the fools and idiots.

Actually I think that would be a rather ridiculous thing to say. I would think the ones not voting would more likely to be the simple minded fools.

Safe to say? Probably not. There is much truth in it, though. Particularly the rabid party line voters. They would vote Satan in if he ran for their party. I hope that more people are waking up and finding how important voting is, but sometimes, especially when I watch the news, I wonder

No, but I think it's safe to say there are Americans among us who are arrogant enough to think it's up to them to declare everyone who doesn't agree with them simple minded fools.

No because of talk radio America is becoming more informed all the time. Like it or not listening to talk radio is a great way to learn about what is going on.
You don't have to agree to listen.

yes. YOu vote for one person and then the other numnut wins. then the next 4 years we got to watch him screw up the country. Why vote?
Btw most americans are dumb regardless if they vote or not. Didn't Gw enact no child left behind. There is a reason why cause lots of them were being left behind and still are cause they are dumb, not cause they are smart.

No. Just severely distracted and misdirected. Choosing who to cast your vote for is kind of like trying to figure out how a magicians slight of hand trick works. If you watch carefully you can figure it out if you don't you get fooled.
