If the mood of this country and many of the YAers toward the war and the military it's going to be a very hard sell. The draft has never been popular in the US. During the Civil War there were many riots against the draft. New York City really went bonkers and dangerously so. We'll just see what happens. I believe the volunteer military is doing a great job considering the circumstances and the ineptitude of our leaders.

Anything is possible. It is highly improbable given the political climate. Add this to the fact that the military doesn't want the draft back, that is only a good idea to people who were never in a position of having to work with draftees. If everyone who supports the draft enlisted, that would solve the manning problem all by itself. Anyone who is unwilling to serve themselves has no room to talk.

I don't know. It's not looking good with Iran, so you may be called to serve. I read where the volunteer military has over exceeded their quotas yet again except for the army and the ANG but this is normal in the month of may.

The draft is always a week away. If an emergency should develop and the assessment is made that we need more troops, in a hurry, walla, we have a draft !

Yes, it's possible. Also possible that Sung Hi Lee will have my love child. Don't hold your breath waiting for either.
