i don't understand, no matter what country he visits (americans, europe, asia, australia, africa) he is always greeted by protesters. its a common sight. but yet people in albania treat him like a rock star - name streets after him and name their sons and daughters george and laura? don't the people in albania understand anything about what is going on in iraq. or are they brainwashed?

They need protection against Serbs. Kosovo Albanians want independence from Serbia but do not have the military force, which would allow them to declare independence and be able to defend it.

Albania has been saved by the United States since Woodrow Wilson. They love the US.
In their minds, the Iraq conflict is similar to their own (Kosovo), and thus, they think the Iraqi people should work with the US, instead of fighting them.

Because America has done a lot for Albania over the years, not just Bush.
We saved the country from division after WWII or WWI, I can't remember,
We helped them out under Clinton with the military.
We helped them and the Eastern Block escape communist Russia.
That is why they love America. Its not just Bush they love.

I know many that escaped communism, Russians, Yugo's, Hungarian, Chinese, Vietnamese. What some of these people went thru to get here is just as horrendous as what they lived thru in their home countries.
They all share 2 things. They love it here. They HATE the communist form of govt.
Albanians would likely cheer Speaker Pelosi too.
