Your rent will be paid if YOU pay it. The government does not pay your rent for you. Your paycheck will give you that money.

But the military does give living expense vouchers to cover married families rent and other expenses.
How ever for now, If she can pay her rent then she will have to do that on her own. you can contribute extra from your paycheck via a payroll deduction.
How ever You should contact the Navy legal department and seek their advice since your wife is a foreign national. This has caused problems in the past.
Well as for housing. your rank/pay grade upon completion of basic training and your school will determine whether you get on or off base housing. Family services prior to and at your base can help you in this matter
Final Thought about the recruiters they get paid to lie to you their only goal is to get you to sign the contract and swear the oath.
Believe you me they are some silver tonged devils

After boot camp, you will draw a BAQ. That is an allowence for basic quarters. Being a new recruit, it won't be much. Also, you no doubt will be able to sign up for food stamps. What a way to enter a new job???? Oh, I just noticed, if you are not living together, you will not get housing unless the Navy deems that after you were married, you were transferred.

As a former Petty Officer in the U.S.Navy,I can tell you that the Navy will pay for your housing if you qualify for housing. Also they can set up housing for you at the base where you will be home ported. However, you can set up an allotment of up to two thirds of your base pay,to be sent to the bank,or to your wife,in order to cover any expenses that you might incur.Your pay grade at time of completion of boot camp, and school, will determine if you are eligible for on base or off base housing.Any other questions about the USN,feel free to ask.I spent nearly 12 years in service to our country.

If the recruiters give you different answers, you need to ask somebody above them, but in the Navy.
Why would you trust answers from "experts" on Yahoo?
If I tell you, that the rent must be paid, will you go to the Navy and say: "A guy on Yahoo told me..."

yes.. and no.
because she is OCONUS, your BAH wil be based on YOUR location instead of the usual her location while you are in Basic and A school.
I am currently trying to help someone who is in Guam and has been dealing with the same issue.. her husband's BAH has been based on TX( His A school location) this whole time. but the rules state,,if the family resides OCONUS during TAD/Unacompanied, BAH is based on the duty station. so it is doubtful that you will get enough BAH and Family Sep to cover rent in Germany.
