When our nation was young ONE president, George Washington, was sufficient. Now that our nation has grown from 13 colonies to the Entire USA and Alaska and Puerto Rico........IS ONE President sufficient? I do not think so.

How do you see this working?

Do you mean splitting the country up?

Who chooses all of these presidents -- different regions, or all of us?

What happens when they don't agree about things?

It would be easier to respond more intelligently if you'd written some details.

The president isn't king or absolute ruler. There are other branches, and the purpose of that system was as checks on the power of that one person.

Also, the president farms out a lot of stuff.

For instance, the Cabinet has grown A LOT since the first few Washington had.

Interesting idea, though.

It would take Ammending the Constitution to do it; NOT an easy task.

If there were a group that acted as president, and worked by consensus of the group, I might go for that.

When the American Empire will fight with all other world, it will get a lot of presidents, as the Roman Empire before Constantine the Great (they have 4 tetrarches - 4 top rulers of empire at the same time).

Cohabitation in the executive doesn't work. How would they go about sharing powers? All you've pointed out is that our country is larger now, but you haven't shown the workload is too much for one person to handle. You have plenty of representatives between the House, Senate and your state legislatures.
