In meeting with the recruiter we were told that pay starts in Basic training, but the direct deposit may take a couple of weeks. But, my wife had to sign a paper with information for dependents and one of the items on that paper stated that I may not be paid during training. Is this true? I am talking about the NAVY.
Thanks.

Just a general question. Not saying I am comfortable with countries such as North Korea etc. having them but I am sure that they are not so keen on the USA having them either. What qualifications does a counrty need before they are considered "trustworthy"

Think all the Western governments who are going crazy over the environment are just conspiring to stop us from noticing that they're ignoring the issues that really matter?

As always when you post such a question, there are several brainwashed bush loving freaks with limited knowledged and zero respect for democracy that will either try to silence the person writting the question, or make a blanket statement about terrorist and 9-11. What im seeking here is an intelligent, educated response that explains what is required in order to legally make a case for war. well we cant go to war because we dont like another country, or because they are ruthless dictators. So what are the only LEGAL reasons the U.S. can invade a country and go to war? If later it is discovered that the legal requirements for going to war were not met, then has a crime been commited? And if this is the case, should we accept simple reasons, like oops, we made a mistake? We jail our citizens here for breaking the law, why not government officials? Other countries do. Shouldnt the same rules they make for us apply to them? Ever told the IRS oops, made a mistake?

Israel's barbaric treatment of the Palestinian people.

The US and Britain make them strong....
The despotic Dictators of the Arab countries dare not complain because they would be found out for what they are to their own peoples.....
We the peoples of the world turn a blind eye because of the collective guilt concerning the holocaust...

Whilst they the Israelis commit worse crimes.

If it were you or I to lie to Congress, the FBI, the CIA etc. Would we get only 30 months? Or would we be hung out to dry? and would we get up to 2 months before we had to report, or be led from the court house in handcuffs if found guilty?

There hasnt been ONE well-grounded medical study to prove that second-hand smoke causes any health problems... Even if so, if you go to a bar a couple of times you are NOT likely to get cancer... So why dont just people lay off smokers for a second and put pressure on certain minorities overusing their cheap cologne that gives people allergies or soccer moms dragging their crying babies everywhere that give people headache. Bottom line is smoking is legal and if it is legal then smokers should be given a break.... By the way, I am not a smoker, but I feel sorry for them!

Does anybody know the law on workplace hygeine ?

I work in a building with 19 other people, and we found cockroaches in the kitchen about 8-9 weeks ago.

The managers called a pest control firm, and they come out and laid some traps etc, but there still here.

The managers do not seem to bothered about it and I don't think my company is doing enough to get this under control, and we have nowhere to sit and eat our lunch.

Are there any laws that would help me out ?

You may be surprised by this . I'm open for ANY logical explanations for this .

Right now , there is a question titled something like " Lovely Americans. . . . .Iran is Your Friend " .

It's on the board right now . It basically says that some guy in Iran wanted to explain what it's really like in Iran . And there are many good people and things there , I know that . But this one ignores and denies his own governments PUBLIC STATEMENTS , easily researched and verifiable . It reeks of propaganda so bad , that I believe even some of the anti-war folks will smell it !!

Then to top it off , I notice that although it's the longest question I've ever seen posted. . . . .. . .THERE ARE NO BREAKS IN IT . Yahoo's question character limit is 1000 characters . I know , my questions get long . But there's no break like 'additional comments' and '6 minutes ago' for example . It's THOUSANDS OF CHARACTERS LONG WITHOUT EVEN 1 BREAK !!

WTF Is Going On ?
