My boyfriend was driving my car and we got pulled over for an illegal U-turn. Unbeknownst to us, his license was expired. My car got towed and he has a notice to appear in court. Does anyone know what the penalty for this is? Does he need a lawyer?

The troops stated to me "Ba...Ba....Ba...Black Ha....Ha....Ha....Black Hawk down"....Then told me to hush up due to the military getting beat in Somalia in Oct 1993. He said "those rag tag men are too tough for the USA military. Is that why we cut and ran?

The original purpose of the Social Secuirty Act was:

(a) To counter the effects of the Great Depression
(b) To counter the effects of World War Two
(c) A & B
(d) None of the above

I say its "C" because wasn't World War Two also considered the "Great Depression"?

TIA

I keep hearing this over and over and it's a ridiculous statement!
Sure, there are lazy Americans, just as there are lazy Mexicans, Guatemalans, Peruvians, Indians, Arabs, Africans, Pakistani's, Frenchmen, and Germans.
I swear, I wish that people would listen to themselves when they say silly stuff like that, it just makes their arguments look worthless.

Have you noticed? The closer we get to Nov 2008 the more the Republicans are starting to shake like a leaf in the wind.

This way, kids can't get around it. Not even with proxies. Thank godness, this generation is filled with lazy kids anyway. That's why America's kids are obese. It was totally different when I was a kid. Any thoughts?

Hi...

Situation is this...

I have a signed agreement with an individual dating back to OCT 2005. He lives in California, I live in Chicago. I gave him $15,000 which was really a loan vs. "investment"; however, I assume that it WOULD be an investment as he promised "100% return" backed up by his own inheritance "within 60 to 90 days" of the signed agreement. Obviously, that should have come to pass long ago. To date (5/16/07), I have been repaid $13,000 of my original $15,000. At an absolute minimum, I am owed my remaining $2,000 PLUS $15,000 PLUS EXTRA for over 1 1/2 years of calls, emails, lies, suffering, broken promises, etc. - AND extra if I need to get an attorney for this, which I am not quite sure of at the moment.

I have been told that with my agreement, it's "open and shut", and that I can file a judgement myself against this person / entity. I can? Without legal representation? When I live in Chicago and he/the entity out of California?

Thanks!!

I was denied when I applied for a tourist visa. Now, we don't have a choice but to get married and decided I should give up everything to be with my fiance. I am just scared they will still say no! I left my job before to get a tourist visa to visit him and met his family. But now, even if we are planning to get married, I still feel worried. Maybe it is because of my nationality. I am a filipina by the way. I need all the things you know for me to get my visa. I just want to be with my love one.

I beleive if you have been found not guilty in criminal court you should not be allowed to sue in a civil court. If they want to sue you in civil court they should sue you there first, them a criminal case should be tried no matter what the outcome of the civil case. Anyone agree? I'm sure plenty disagree.

rating is higher than the Republican's or Bush's. What does that tell you about how the American people feel about the two parties in Congress?

Allan Calderon, a 22-year-old from Guatemala who crossed the U.S.-Mexican border when he was 16, wants to stay.

"I don't ask for handouts, I start work at 5 a.m. and work until 8 p.m., no time to eat lunch," he said. "It is a hard decision to leave everything behind -- I drank the whole way while I crossed the border so I wouldn't think about what I was doing. I walked four days and three nights, I was crying."

In Guatemala, he may have made 50 cents an hour; here, his carpentry work earns him $17.50 an hour.

I guess its perfectly fine to send a few thousand British millitary personell into harms way, but when one of the ruling elite feel like putting their money where their mouth is, the blue-bloods pull the strings to protect him!

Typical of the rich, ruling class in all nations, send someone else's kid to die for their war.

Ps. I support Prince Harry wanting to do the right thing and fight for a war his nation supposedly believes in. The generals and the politicians should be ashamed of themselves for giving preferential treatment to him. All their troops are in constant danger, either it is ok for all of them or it isn't.
