Hmmm, funny about that. When we did send troops to Africa, you screamed bloody murder about how horrible it was that we were interfering in African internal affairs, and that wwe should get out.

What a hypocrite.

This is good question but why limit it to bush? What about the rest of the world who also ignores what is happening.

Besides don't you remember Somalia, Rwanda, Liberia and all the other crisis in Africa during the Clinton administration? Where were we then?

As a member of the US army I'd love to be sent to africa to help but right now our military is stretched too much to even consider this.

edit: to anyone who has said Africa doesn't have oil is severly misinformed. While the whole continent isn't rich there are very large reservoirs there. 25% of the members of OPEC are from africa

Hmm, lets see,
China and Russia keep stopping resolutions to send U.N. troops to Sudan, Somalia is wanting to use friendly countries with in the AU (African Union). Sudan keeps denying allowing AU and UN peace keeping force in their country so they can continue the genocide. The U.N. won't listen to the U.S. to declare Sudan a Genocide, which would mandate the U.N. to send troops anyway. Hmm, The U.S. has been trying to push through things in the U.N. to force the U.N. hand and send a multinational force in to Sudan and Somalia, but can only get U.K. to back up the resolutions. France, Germany, China, Russia keeps wanting to water down the resolutions and not use the term Genocide. So yeah the U.S. is trying, it's other countries that are blocking the U.S. from getting things done.

How about france and germany, they created a good deal of the strife there?????????

Personally no one in the USA gives a rats **** about Africa and there really isn't any reason to care.

Get on the whiney buts in Europe to Help in Africa. We are in Afghanistan and Iraq fighting our war against terror in the US and Europe and taking nothing but crap from France and Germany.

Aim your barbed tongue at them!

Ret. USAF SNCO who has been to several hotspots in Africa and doesn't care to return.

That's a very Liberal view, isn't it? You all kicked and screamed about the President sending troops to Iraq, and now you want him to send troops to Somalia because it suits your party. How about YOU going to Somalia?

To be honest?

Africa is a sh!thole, all they want to do is kill eachother and theres nothing anybody can do to stop it. We might as well help in places like Iraq were the majority of the people are on our side (86% of Iraqis VOTED for the troops to stay)

Insufficient troops. Bush used them in Afghanistan and Iraq. Now has none for anywhere else.

(Military manpower was cut 40% under Clinton but the shortage of manpower is obviously Bush's,)

OMG, the Liberal Dems would have a fit! Just imagine the idea of protecting someone or a country would throw them into another tizzy! It's amazing how many ignorant people there are that still believe Iraq is about oil!

I agree with the answer before, he's not interested in helping people even though he says that what our troops are doing over there. Helping what?? He's helping them die is all Bush is doing. There's something seriously corrupt and scandalous about all of this. I agree our troops would be better off in African. I just can't believe with how things were going that Bush was voted in for the second time. Shame on everyone who helped in keeping him in the office. If they love Bush so much they should go over there and fight too.
