Right when it comes to what? Their rights over the holy land?

Palistinians. Israel started it all. Israel claims that it was their land thousands of years ago. Might as well kick all 300 million Americans out of their homes and give it all back to the Native Americans. Or maybe demolish the countries that border Russia to the west and give that land to the Russians. For one Israeli who dies many Palestinians die. Israel just needs to stop building settlements and pull the hell out.

Israel.
For over three thousand years, the majority of the people in the region have been Jews. When foreign powers invaded, many Jews just kept quiet and waited for other foreign powers to drive out the invaders.

After World War One, Britain and France divided up the Middle East to prevent the Arabs from having a single, powerful nation. The British Mandate was the region set aside for establishing a Jewish homeland This tract of land included all of Israel (including the Arab occupied West band and Gaza strip), all of what is now Jordan, and part of what is now Iraq. Eighty percent of this land was later used to establish a homeland for the Arabs who were approximately thirty percent of the population. This new Arab country established on Israeli land was called Transjordan.

Later, when Britain was going to allow Israeli autonomy, they offered even more land to pacify the Arabs. The Arabs refused to allow the Jews to exist on land that the Arabs had never owned.

When Israel became independent from Britain, Transjordan and other Arab nations invaded Israel. When the Transjordanian advance stopped, Transjordan changed its name to "Jordan" and dishonestly claim new "original borders."

In 1967, the Arab illegal aliens living in Israel stopped calling themselves Jordanians and began using the word "Palestinian."

Furthermore, in Israel, Arab Muslims have the right to vote and organize political parties. There are currently three Arab/Muslim only political partied that hold seats on the Knesset (Congress). It is the Arabs who demand ethnic cleansing of lands that they occupy.

The Palestinian position is similar to what we would have if the KKK illegally moved to Africa and demanded the extermination of the Africans, and the return of the "KKK ancestral homeland" Certainly we can see that this more familiar example would be ridiculous.

This is the plain, non-religious rule of International Law. In fact, the only region that could legally be disputed would be Jordan, since Britain did not have the right to set up another Arab nation in the British Mandate. The Israelis have tried to live in peace and have not challenged Jordan's right to exist even though Transjordan was established illegally.

I notice that some responders cited the Bible. The land that Israel owns according to the Bible would encompass half the Sinai Peninsula, all of the Arabian Peninsula, all of the Turkish Peninsula, and the Easter shore of the Mediterranean Sea up to the Euphrates River. the Bible specifically excludes Ishmaelites (Arabs) from ownership of any of this land. Jews believe that this land promise will be fulfilled when Messiah comes, and so they do not lay claim to this land.

With so many people in the US claiming to be Christians, and so many others claiming that they are not anti-Semitic, it seems incongruous that the US position has been so anti-Israel from the Regan administration to the current Bush administration.

This does not even take into account that if the Jews owned those oil fields, they would be so afraid of being falsely accused of greed that they would sell oil for a tiny fraction of what the Arabs charge. Also, the Jews would not use oil money from the US to pay Osama Bin Laden to commit acts of terrorism.

So, the Jews are legally, ethically, and morally have the right to the Land of Israel, and we have a vested interest in their possession of their Promised Homeland.

Israel

Let's see, the people of Israel came from Europe in 1948 and killed and drove off the inhabitants of the land that is now occupied by Israel.

All people have a right to defend their land from hostile foreign occupiers.

The only claim the Jewish people have on the land is contained in a piece of religious fiction.

Go ask the United Nations. They are the ones who created Israel and started this mess around 1948.

Without more to go on in your question, I'd have to say that on a map, Israel is to the left and where the Palestinians are is on the right.

Israel. I would give the Palestinians a break if they would just do something to better their own lives instead of blaming all their failures on the Israelis. They are certainly getting enough foreign aid themselves to do something with it.
Jordon actually took a bigger slice of the so called Palestinian lands and there is not a word said.

Who is "right" is almost immaterial. The fact is you have millions of both groups in the same area, and neither one is going away any time soon.

What would be "right' is if both groups could realize this and work towards some solution of living together. Based on previous events, though, I'm not holding my breath.

Both sides claim they have rights to the land. Both sides will say that their Holy books give them promise to this land. Both sides say they were there first.

However both sides have their extremist, both sides have done so much damage to each side. I wish that both sides would just get along as neighbors and stop all this killing and blood shed. I think the average "joe" in the area just wants to life in peace.

Both are wrong. Both are right. Neither side can claim the moral high ground. Both sides have a valid claim to the land. Both sides should stop resorting to violence and start working seriously towards establishment of a true Palestinian state. Both sides should apologize. Both sides should imprison wrongdoers and terrorists (Israeli settlers are nothing more than terrorists in my mind, it's not just the Palestinians).
