My husband is now active military. I know this act requires creditors to lower you interest rate to 6%. Can someone tell me how I go about getting them to do this? Thanks in advance.

I am a teacher, who has recently experienced identity theft. I wrote a check for $500 to a company (not a collection agency) in Montana. (I live in South Dakota.) It bounced. Although I have every intention of rectifying the situation, the company called me at work today and threatened that, if this isn't taken care "right away", they will have the Sheriff "drag me out of my classroom in front of my students" and "extradite me to Montana." I understand that I owe them the money (and am in the wrong) but this threat seemed inappropriate to me. It seemed like a deliberate tactic designed to intimidate (especially after I already admitted I owed them the money). What should I do? I was thinking of faxing them a letter explaining the situation, establishing payment terms, and telling them to cease making threats. Advice would be appreciated, especially with specific legal information I can use to help avoid anymore threats.

Oh wait, I forgot, the 911 Commission found no ties, they are fighting for Iraqi freedom. Oh wait, Iraq is in the middle of a civil war, I forgot. They are fighting against terrorism, Oh wait, I forgot the terrorists are in Afghanistan. Oh wait, I forgot....Bush is jus t a bold faced liar. Cheney too. So, my question is, how did we end up in Iraq and WHAT ARE WE DOING THERE EXCEPT DYING?? Oh wait I forgot, protecting American and our freedom. Oh wait, I forgot, Buash has taken away all our civil liberties. I think Bush is the enemy, I forgot.

I choose not to say the Pledge for my own reasons, but the teachers at my high school have us stand for the pledge every morning. If I am not going to say the pledge and will continue to do my work while the rest of my class says it, then standing up only makes doing my work more difficult. I have issues with the pledge and public school is required, so it would seem to me that they cannot also require us to stand for the pledge as well, if that makes sense.Would it be within my rights to refuse to stand?

Please understand that this is really just out of curiosity, I do realize that trying to get away with not standing is not worth the trouble. And please, I do not need to have anyone tell me why I should say the pledge- I am a loyal American and a Christian, so neither of those is my reasoning behind not saying it.

I heard the only way a father can stop his ex from relocating with their child is to sue for custody. My fiance broke the news to her daughter's father yesterday about our plans to move and he said he was going to court to have the move blocked. It's a tough situation for everybody involved, and I'm starting to feel like it would be best if I took myself out of the picture. First, I just wanted to see how we can prepare for this situation.

Someone can die from a single episode of alcohol consumption. No one has ever died from ingesting to much marijuana in one sitting. People get drunk, get into fights and kill others while driving under the influence. People get stoned, eat, giggle and relax. But you may say... oh smoking is harmful... yes it is VERY harmful... but cigarettes are worse and they're legal... so what gives?? anyone wanna add to this. and to any one that does resond... please respond intelligently and logically and if you are going to disagree please provide your reasons for disagreeing
