alone now. Oh wait, I forgot, there are no weapons of mass destruction. They are fighting because Iraq was tied to 911. Oh wait, I forgot, the 911 Commission found no ties, they are fighting for Iraqi freedom. Oh wait, Iraq is in the middle of a civil war, I forgot. They are fighting against terrorism, Oh wait, I forgot the terrorists are in Afghanistan. Oh wait, I forgot....Bush is jus t a bold faced liar. Cheney too. So, my question is, how did we end up in Iraq and WHAT ARE WE DOING THERE EXCEPT DYING?? Oh wait I forgot, protecting American and our freedom. Oh wait, I forgot, Buash has taken away all our civil liberties. I think Bush is the enemy, I forgot.

Nice try, but of course there were WMD's there. Read the Duelfer report. In fact, not only did the inspectors find actual weapons that had not been destroyed like Iraq had claimed, but they found a Poisons and Toxins for Assassinations program that the UN did not even know existed.

And of course, NOONE ever said that we were fighting because Iraq was tied to 911. Iraq had ongoing ties to terrorists groups, including AlQaeda. The 911 Commission report spelled out all of the contacts between Iraq and AlQaeda. Perhaps you should read it.

I didn't realize that the terrorists are only in Afghanistan. That should make the people in Bali glad to know that it wasn't terrorists that killed hundreds of people there in the night club bombing. I think England will be glad to know that those subway and bus attacks were not carried out by terrorists. Spain will be happy that the train attack there was not done by terrorists. Terrorists only live in Afghanistan.

You might like to know that Iraq was listed as a State Sponsor of Terrorism in the State Department's "Patterns of Global Terrorism" throughout the entire decade of the 90s.

Please just try to make a little effort to learn some facts before you spout off. It would make you sound less ignorant.

You forgot that the war in Iraq is really making the US a safer place.

Oh ... I forgot, The Council on Foreign Relations says that Iraq is "a training and testing ground for new jihadi tactics". Oh I also forgot former Director of the CIA, Porter Goss testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee that “Islamic extremists are exploiting the Iraqi conflict to recruit new anti-U.S. jihadists.”

Gee didn't see that coming, who could have predicted that?

Iraq is a big mess and I find it very confusing as to why a certain portion of the US public can't admit that. Pretty hard to have a reasonable discussion with someone who can look at the events in Iraq and believe themselves when they say that things in Iraq are improving. The lives, the money, the international reputation of the USA, it's all being wasted. Iraq is simply not worth it. You tried to make it a better place, they're not interested, time to go. There's hundreds of other places in the world that would welcome your efforts and your more than 8 billion dollars a day.

It's a sad time.

I just got into a little spat with my brother in law (ex-military) about why the hell we are there and all his claims are things that you said. I find it nauseating that we are all so pissed about 9-11 that we just have to go after someone to make us feel like we're getting even. He is convinced that Iraq helped fund the attack. He is convinced that everything would be the same whether Bush was pres or not due to his yes-men...oh, I mean advisers. It really is no wonder to me that so many countries hate us when they are struggling every day for basic needs- with hungry kids and hurting feet- but we are only happy with big houses and cars, fast food, spendy clothes, etc, etc, etc. If Americans decided to not be such lazy, money and power hungry people, we would not be such a hated society and have to constantly be watching our asses. If we had spent the billions of dollars from Iraq on humanitarian efforts and science research imagine what could be accomplished! If those ignorant, greedy people on shows like the sweet 16 or the housewife show (sorry I don't know what they're called b/c I don't have cable) were educated about the world, traveling, and giving just think of how incredibly different life would be right now. As long as our country is run by money hungry people who could give a sh*t less about the needy or the environment, things will NEVER change.

No WMDs?

If you'd kept up with the REAL news Libby, you'd know that they were found but not as much as was thought. The UN gave Saddam plenty of time to ship them to other countries like Syria.

You keep making the same stupid lies up!

Regardles of what you know or may think you have forgotten, you do realize that the decision to do anything was not just by the President but by congress as well.

Everyone was given the same information (whether it was right or wrong) and acted upon it.

I find it funny that so many people like to finger point on one man.

FYI: WMDs were found as my brother was among those who found them.
