When you realize that they practically worship a guy(Newt Gingrich) who left his wife while she was bedridden with cancer to be with his young mistress, you can understand their twisted outlook on the world better.

Because if someone chooses to run for political office he or she has all right to do so, if his or her spouse has an illness it is something that belongs in the family and should not be plastered all over the news in an attempt to gain support.
Attacking him for having a wife with cancer? No, he has no control over that.
But using the cancer to gain support? Yes, is it an important fact that his wife has what she has? No, I dont see what that has to do with running the country.

They are mad because he is getting tons of free media time out of this and the possibility that he could get a few sympathy votes. Ha this is opposed to their hero Gulliani who gets free publicity because of his scandalous lifestyle and the fact that his own son won't have anything to do with him. The Edwards as far as I know are an honest hard working family. They've been married for 30 yrs unlike the above mentioned. They are very brave to face this the way they have. I imagine she wants John to be able to fulfill his ambitions and dreams with or without her which ever comes first. I just have concerns about his ability to focus on the task at hand with his wife terminally ill.

I'm no repub but I'd just like to know where you liberals get your filthy accusations from? Do you smoke or drink till you can't stand up and the voice in your head tells you these lies?
You and those that agree with you are a very sick lot. You're worse than the people you accuse.

Go through the answers here - count the people in each ideology - now count the hate speech for each side - now count the sympathetic speech. The numbers will tell you that the premise of your question is incorrect.
Count me as Republican, and I am very sad for Mr. Edwards and his wife and family. Cancer is an awful condition for ANYONE to deal with.

John Edwrds suggests that by not placing all things on hold and taking care of his wife, I wish the lady well, cancer is a tough road to walk, but he is disgusting, if that were my woman she wold mean much more than a slim to noe chance at the presidency

I would like to know where you heard this. The only real attatcking that I have heard lately is Bill Maher (a very committed liberal) say that he is upset that Cheney's heart keeps on working. Before you start attacking Republicans, you need to get all the facts and see what politcal party perfoms the attacking.

No argument from me. How pathetic to rejoice over someone else's misery.
Besides, there are *plenty* of things to jump on Edwards for that are legitimate. You have to be one sick puppy to wish cancer on ANYONE.
My best guess is that those people have never had to watch a cancer patient die. It's very slow, painful and gruesome.

Yes, they are. All I want is a candidate that will put the interests of THESE United States ahead of the corporations, and someone who will close the borders, and not let the North American Union go through!

Your wife has cancer, could die from it, and you're raising 2 children under the age of 9. What about this says to you, "you know what though? I'm still going to spend 100s of millions of dollars on commericals and newspaper ads, travel the country and hopefully in the end, I'll be responsible for the lives and well-being of 300 million Americans."
I don't know...something about not putting your wife and kids first in a time of need may be the reason here. I'm sure there are some ridiculous repubs out there spouting some garbage, but when you take politics out of this, it's a pretty simple issue...he's not putting his family first.
