A Monkey or Tony Blair

He's already said that his people will submit to being interviewed by Congress. He just doesn't want them to be under oath or any records of what is said to be kept. The oath and the records part are not executive priviledge. The agreeing to let his people appear and be questioned by Congress, is the executive priviledge. What's the problem here? There is also another clause in the deal that wouldn't allow Congress to recall anyone. So if these people are later found to be flat out lying, that's that. I don't know about you, but I prefer open government and I don't care for backroom briefings on non-national security issues. I want every politician and their tools to take an oath before they give a press conference. And no records! What the hell is that?

I have been trying to help two young brothers,13 and 15 to do the right thing by the law,but they told me last night that they broke into the local swimming pool with three other guys and there was over $15,000 in damages, I know they were telling me the truth.
I know I should go to the Police with this information but I am scared of reporting it as they come from a very violent family and the family knows me and my family and I am frightened of what they might do to my family and me

How do I protect my family when I tell the police because I know I have to tell them by law?

How do I handle this?

He'll continue to veto any bill that proposes a deadline for withdrawal from Iraq, right? What if Congress never pushes a bill through that doesn't contain such a deadline? Will Bush keep exercising his veto authority until it's too late to send money to help the troops, just to prove a point to Congress?

This is what I know:

Bay of Pigs Disaster.
Started Vietnam War.
Sexy/Womanizer/Kennedy.
Lots of people think his death was a tragedy.
He was assassinated.

Nothing I know about him makes him seem all that great. Certainly nobody worth mourning over.

On the other hand, nothing seems to be deserving of assassination.

What am I missing?

Is everybody just intoxicated by his charisma to the point that they overlook that he was a bad president? Was he doing something really risky that nobody talks about that got the CIA on his back?

Does nobody really know or care? Is everything about him a preposterous myth of greatness because he got his head blown off for undisclosed reasons?

Why should I care?

I've heard a lot of Republicans saying over the course of the past few days that Congress has no authority to make any member of the Executive Branch testify under oath. Yet less than a decade ago, a Congress did just that - with the highest-ranking member of the Executive Branch. They further say that a sitting President cannot be made to testify unless a crime has been committed. Yet our legal system sets forth that no person is guilty until proven guilty in a court of law; therefore, Bill Clinton (who, by the way, was ACQUITTED of the charges brought against him) was innocent at the time he had to testify under oath.

Why don't Republicans understand this, since they were the architects of that fiasco fewer than ten years ago???

Does anyone know a phone number one can call to ask question s at the British Consulate, other than the $2.49 a minute outsourced service? There are questions on the C1 form I don't know how to answer since I was born in Jamaica. I have a valid British passport to submit but the photo is destroyed by dry cleaners. Maybe the questions about my foreign birth are irrelevant. I believe my birth was registered at the Home Office, London soon after I was born.

As a nation at war, we are having problems filling the ranks of our armed forces, especially the Army and the Marine Corps. Is the all volunteer force the way to go, or should there be a mandated service for everyone? Not just military, but some kind of public service(Peace Corps, Firefighting, etc.,)

I don't know how most gays make it through boot. I mean the showers and standing close together but those that manage to slip through should be kicked out immediatley. they are defective and as defects they should be kicked out ASAP.

I've known guys who had homos in their platoons in bootcamp and they beat them so bad they left. aint nothin wrong with that.

And why would they want to join? I mean we all say f.a.g like many times a day. don't they hate that? its a hyper masculine atmosphere wouldn't they rather be at a gay bar or something.

I feel that i would have to sell my soul to be left wing or right wing. I am more to left-centre. However a lot of people on the right say that lefties are really communists. Also I wouldn't like to be right wing. Even though I agree with a capitalist mixed economy. I do not agree with every man for himself. I think people need support. However I don't believe in commmunism, don't belive that sharing the wealth is ever possible and don't believe that third way politics is possible.
