I don't think they will. Keep in mind I am not a democrat nor a racist. I just don't believe that they will this time. Interested to find out what you think.

When I say Labour, I mean socialist 'Old Labour' not the conservatised 'New Labour'. Seems like Labour was hijacked. Groups which benefitted from Conservative governance knew the party was on the way out so they took action to secure continued servicing of their interests by.... What say you? was Smith cremated? just questions.... Something to think about anyways.... sounds rational to me....

If you were arrested and were able to post bail and later acquitted because you were found not guilty, do you get reimbursed for that money you posted bail with?

I mean what if you were absolutely innocent and the State made a mistake and arrested the wrong man.

I made a huge mistake earlier on in my life and got a ridiculous tattoo on my forearm. It is not racist or degrading in any way. Im trying to get it removed but it is a very slow and expensive process. But. that is a different story. I guess I would just like to know if this will prohibit me from joining up.

Federal law makes "obscenity" illegal. However the statute does not define obscenity. The Supreme Court set the three prong "Miller Test" for juries to determine if a book, video, photograph, etc, is obscene. In essence a jury must watch a video from beginning to end and then determine if:

*Whether the average person, applying contemporary community standards, would find that the work, taken as a whole, appeals to the prurient interest,
*Whether the work depicts/describes, in a patently offensive way, sexual conduct or excretory functions specifically defined by applicable state law,
*Whether the work, taken as a whole, lacks serious literary and/or artistic, political, or scientific value.

With the recent abuses of the Patriot Act coming to light, do you have confidence in the performance of US Attorney General Alberto Gonzales? Should the agents who misused this law enforcement tool face criminal charges? Should Gonzales step down?

I think deep down most people don't really want to fight. it is much easier to not fight. The only problem is corrupt leaders who are power hungry or greedy. But the majority of a people could overthrow a violent ruler. It is possible to install a more peaceful government.
I think the main reason people fight is over a limited amount of resources (jobs, natural resources) but all you need to solve that problem is a little less funding for war and a little more funding for science.
I don't believe the people who say world peace isn't possible. Of course it is. But at this point it is unlikely, because people are not united. If people united, they could move mountains and make strides towards peace.
We don't need to all be the same. We don't even need to agree necessarily. We just need to tolerate one another's differences. We could make it work.
Most people are not cold blooded killers. Whatever happened to the majority having a say about how they want to live?

It seems that "liberals" are to blame for everything these days...

and the term is almost always used as a prefix to democrat...

So what EXACTLY is a liberal?

And how can a "liberal" be such a strong force in a country where they are described as "fringe outsiders"?

I scored a 69 on the ASVAB [not sure whether it's a high score or not] and my point is, I want to join the service, I just haven't made my mind as to which one..

I was aiming for the Navy, but I was approached by a recruiter from the Army National Guard and was quite impressed with what he had to say. Most of the people I know in the service are with the Army.. so any suggestions as to which one would be the better branch to join? :O) thanks for your suggestions..

Congressman Obey Says "Idiot Liberals" Need to Support War Money
By David Swanson

House Appropriations Chair David Obey (Dem., Wisc.) ran into woman in the hallway in Washington recently and ended up yelling at her and her friends, accusing them of "smoking something that's not legal" if they disagreed with him, and denouncing "idiot liberals."

The woman, Tina Richards, introduced herself to Obey as the mother of a Marine about to depart for his third tour of Iraq, and as someone who has tried to communicate with Obey but received no response. Then she…
