where is the respect?

I hate to say this, but there ARE conservatives out there who don't have the balls to stand up for what they believe in when the majority turns against them!

This is evident by the way many of them have turned on President Bush!

It's like Jesus said in Revelation 2:10: "Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life."

Bush has done some good things, I did see a commander and chief after 9/11,however, I think the respect flew out the window when no WMD where found and he didn't fire all the incompetent idiots that said they had proof of the WMD, however, that would also had made the USA look foolish. Don't get me wrong, Saddam was one sick tyrant whom killed his own people, but don't lie to yourself, the war was about government contracts for his lobbyist. If he had invaded Iraq on grounds of humanity I think he might have saved face and his respect.

So the respect is hidden next to the WMD. Also, have you watched a lot of Bush's speeches??? Sometimes I worry thinking, this is our President and does he know what he is doing?? However, after all the harsh facts I just uncovered I thank God that Gore nor Kerry won the election because I fear they would have probably tried to pay the terrorist to stop.
Of all the short comings of Bush I can honestly say that he does have balls.

Well as a common man working for a living, why should I respect a rich spoiled brat that never had the popular vote, doesn't that tell you anything at all, like your vote does not count, how can a candidate for president loose an election with the popular vote unless its rigged and it is. As an American there is no way I can have respect for a person that did not win the popular vote, because that means the people do not want him, just the republicans want him and they did not have the popular vote. So where is your respect for the voter of the USA

In free countries we don't have to respect the president or prime minister.

In Britain people insult Blair to his face. Bush still has a lot of people respcting him.

Do you consider criticism putting him down? If so, then I guess you can be tired of me too. Our President isn't perfect, and he makes mistakes from time to time. Because I voice my displeasure in those mistakes that doesn't make me a bad guy. I continue to support our CIC, and I think he's the best one for the job right now. That doesn't mean I will not voice myself in order to avoid upsetting the likes of you.

Respect has to be earned.

Even if respect is granted by default based on someone's position, it can be lost based on what the individual does.

Many people who formerly supported Bush no longer agree with his decisions. So, they re-evaluated based on new information.

Respect means nothing unless there are standards that need to be met to earn or keep it. And if you don't allow people to re-evaluate those standards, how can they have any meaning.

when a person becomes president he is given respect, from that moment on it is up to them, by their decisions and deeds, to keep that respect or lose it. GWB has chosen poorly. That is why he is not respected.
