If you were arrested and were able to post bail and later acquitted because you were found not guilty, do you get reimbursed for that money you posted bail with?
I mean what if you were absolutely innocent and the State made a mistake and arrested the wrong man.

Yes you do as long as you made your court appearances. Even if you are found guilty, you should still get your bail back.
A bail or bond is simply a guarantee that you will appear in court when you are scheduled.
Some jurisdictions may hold all or a portion of bail if you have fines or court costs.

Bail is levied to ensure that you return and face the charges at trial.
If the charges are dismissed, or if you are acquitted, then the bail is exonerated (returned) to whoever posted it.
If you are convicted, than the bail is applied to any fines or restitution due, and the remainder (if any) is returned.
Note that bail is different than a bail bond. If you pay a bondsman, that is a service fee (like an insurance premium). You don't get the fee back, whether you are acquitted or not.

If you post your own bail, ( don't use a bail bondsmen) you get the bail you posted back just by showing up, even if you are guilty.
If you pay a bondsmen to post the bail for you, the money you pay him is his fee for this service, and he keeps that money no mattter what.

Unfortunately, no you cannot get your bail returned. Read your bail paperwork!!! It is there in black and white and if you still don't understand call your bail bondsman and ask them, they will be happy to point it out.
