Hey, I'd like to ask your opinion about this. Prisoners in most developed countries get television, a gym, payphones, living quarters, all this and more for free. Is this fair? Is it fair that they have basically everything we do for free, except their freedom? Or should the prisons be like in Arizona, where the prisoners wear pink clothes (socks, shorts, underwear, shirts), live out in tents (very hot), and do work daily?(this was in an e-mail i got)
I believe it is fair. Why should people commit a crime, and then basically get a reward for it? They should be punished. Jails are no longer a punishment anymore. They are 'free parking' spaces, where someone gets everything for free. If jailers worked hard everyday, people would try harder not to commit crimes, and our jails would be emptier. Please give your opinion.

Once you're a commissioned officer, you can attend various military schools and further your military education. What are some of these schools and what do they teach you?

How many people in here are cops?I was looking at some of the answers given ,you think that if someone went to the time to ask a question here that they would like a answer, not to be called stupid or retarded or losers.I think cops should be banned from this section because they do not have a neutral postion on anything related to law inforcement, there attitude is guilty, guilty, and they dont give a ratsh*t if someone is innocent. One thing for sure if someone does ask a legitimate question and a cop knows the answer,do you think the cop is going to say ANYTHING bad about another cops behaviour, attitude,or if they will say,
That cop was wrong in what he did,he should be FIRED! who agrees?

I live in San Francisco, California and I work in the IT industry, and after recently starting a new job, my boss asked me if I could travel to Australia & China, but I explained to him that I didn't think I could due to the law that states I must owe $0 to the government.

Anyone out there who's knowledgeable with U.S. law know if a citizen with my circumstances can, in fact, obtain a passport or work visa for employment purposes? If so, how?

Thanks in advance for your help!

He sais he is making peace. Well look at how many people have died when US invaded Iraq. You have Killed Sadam Husain. you want gas(and why aren't people looking at themselves and say they are fuc*ing stealing gas and petrolium which won't be here soon.)How is that Justice. I am Canadian born in Toronto and originally irish so don't think i'm an arab. But I am sad that so many children are being killed. Last Summer I went to dubai and I could not believe what I just saw, I saw soo many kids dying. I Remember Steve Nash wore the shirt "No war -- Shoot for peace" in the 2003 all star game, So what did David Robinson Reply, "Just Shut up and Play" Why are Canadians in Iraq, they have no reason to go there, they are just loosing, and they don't have any reasonable explanation for it.
Now what does the USA say Fuc*ing Bi*ches

My husband and I have been seperated for a year now. He receives $846/mth BAH through the army. We have 2 children together and I receive $500 total per month as child support. Is he legally allowed to keep this money when he is living in the barracks and I am the one with the housing bills? God, he's such a jackass.

I have a few thousand and I am thinking about starting my own law firm. I called the local bar and they said it was a crazy idea to do it and that they would not allow me to join the bar without a degree.

All I need to do is rent an office, get my business paperwork squared away, and open up shop.

I was told I need a letter from the bar association as one of many things in order to get my license to practice law.

According to the 1st Amendment, I can do this. IO would guess the grey area probably would be that I may be breaking a law if I call myself a lawyer. So I would have to call myself "Unlicensed Counsel". But anyone can represent anyone if the judge allows it.

So whats your take on this. Oh, and if you are a lawyer, judge, or anyone who works within the court system, I expect a professional reply.

I am a British citizen of UK birth with British parents.
I am currently residing with my (new) wife in New Zealand.
My wife is Stephanie Regan, who is a US citizen.
Stephanie is returning to the US to go back toi school to train to be a teacher, I would much like to go with her and live during this 15 month period in the US (Portland, OR) and work (as obviously I will need to support myself - and her possibly).

We have come accross many barriers to this happening in terms of visas and forms to fill out etc.
We are currently compiling a I-130 petition to let me enter as a Spouse, but understand this may take a long time to process (12+ months!?). We are planning to head back to the US in May (2007) so tyime is of the essence.

What can we do?
How can I get into the country and not have to leave within 3/6 months?
How can I work?
Will I be refused entry to the US if I don't have an onward flight and the process isn't completed?
I have been told I will be refused if the imm

Bush vows swift action in FBI records scandal

ANCHORENA PARK, Uruguay (Reuters) - President Bush pledged swift action on Saturday over findings that the FBI illegally or improperly obtained private records during terrorism and espionage investigations.

Bush, visiting Uruguay on a Latin American tour, insisted he had confidence in FBI Director Robert Mueller and Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, despite a Justice Department report of FBI misconduct that has sparked a congressional outcry.

The report added fuel to the fire for the Democratic Party and others criticizing the Bush administration for weakening protections of civil liberties in its war on terrorism after the September 11 attacks on the United States in 2001.

The report by Inspector General Glenn Fine's office rebuked the FBI for demanding, without a court order, customer records from telephone companies, Internet service providers, banks and credit card firms.

I've seen these a lot, mainly on t.v., and owned by veterans or veterans' families. I know why the flag is folded in a triangle when not on formal display, but I'm curious if there is more significance to the triangle display cases; i.e. are these special commemorative flags given to certain soldiers or veterans? Thanks for the help!!
