send a 16/17 year old to prison over a school fight, no blood/wepons/bruses. on a class 1 felonie, then put him straight on house arrest. oh ya & then they couldnt devide weather to put him on it.
either way you look at it a law was brokin' & not by a civilion

Need more details, like how badly was the other person hurt, and does this teenager have a record ? Is he on probation ?

If the child was convicted of a felony, and tried as an adult, then he could be sent to prison. If tried as a juvenile, then it would be a juvenile correction facility rather than prison.

And yes, a judge could require house arrest, either at arraignment pending trial, or at sentencing if convicted.

The court system can send him to prison if they send his case to adult court

Fighting is an assult, don't matter if there was no blood,
Had there been weapons, it would be a much more serious crime.

So yes he can be sent to jail for it
