How many people in here are cops?I was looking at some of the answers given ,you think that if someone went to the time to ask a question here that they would like a answer, not to be called stupid or retarded or losers.I think cops should be banned from this section because they do not have a neutral postion on anything related to law inforcement, there attitude is guilty, guilty, and they dont give a ratsh*t if someone is innocent. One thing for sure if someone does ask a legitimate question and a cop knows the answer,do you think the cop is going to say ANYTHING bad about another cops behaviour, attitude,or if they will say,
That cop was wrong in what he did,he should be FIRED! who agrees?

First off,No dont think I have a cop "phobia"wether I like cops or not is not my point.Second cops dont go to some crimninas house thinking there are walking into certain death,If they did there would be alot less cops, they aint that good.As for (your comment on)there are good and bad people in every profession,I think its a bit more serious matter when you are dictating whether or not to cost somebody alot of money (if you look at some of the most minor charges, and your proven innocent,it will still cost you alot of money)I would say most cops let there emotions overide there ability to understand just exactly what there going to cost the persons involved there accusing of breaking the law

My case in point,is to do with the last comment, that was about a page long. You go on about the crap they deal with everyday, cops do not deal with crap everyday,MOST cops never even draw their gun in the line of duty. You make it sound like the society we live in is crap.Yes they deal with occasional usavory types of people. But isnt that what they are getting paid to do??If I had to pick between my wife and a career,I think I would be more intelligent enough to pick my spousal partner over a career as a cop,as for suicide,if the cops in question is not able to tell his own self that he needs help,do you think the public wants him deciding things on there behalf?Heres a shell son,MIND if I watch? Its called life, people deal with it as whole,I would say that most cops are sorry sh*ts yep, kinda like what the woman said about the mafia,

There's cops on this thing? Hm. I was wondering where all the stupid questions were coming from. Also explains why all the dirty input posing as questions goes unchecked. True to form!

Sounds like you have a lil cop phobia going on? Well, as I always say, if you can't beat em join em. I am not a cop, but I will say this.. If you don't like what cops are doing, then become one and try to do things differently. Also I would charge you with this question... Would you like to serve a warrant at a house where there are known weapons, and some idiot that is ready to shoot you? What would you do if you had to walk into certain death? Turn and run? Well cops are charged with protecting the public.. and I know some do some bad things, as in every profession, but that does not make all cops bad.

I believe what you're saying is that police/law enforcement will almost never expell the bad cops within their ranks. They tend to defend all law enforcement even when there are those who have done really bad stuff. There are "bad apples" in all professions but it would seem that behavior is encouraged(in law enforcement) because no one is willing to "rat out" a fellow officer. A code of conduct strangely similar to the mafia. Anyone who has experienced bad conduct from the police, and hits the blue wall when they try to get help, knows this is true.
My point is: Why do the good cops protect the bad cops. That seems bad for the profession.

I was a cop for one year and then I quit. I really didn't like the work but it was a huge eye opener for me. If this is your opinion of cops you should go to your local city Police Department and request a ride along. You might be surprised how strictly the police adhere to a difficult moral code. Many things they are required to do are not understood by the public.
Last night someone on here complained that they saw a cop twist a sleeping drunk guys ear. Did you know that when the police entered that home they had a duty to check on the welfare of that individual? You can walk into any emergency room in this country and see sternum rubs and earlobe pinches to check to see if people can be awoken. The first death investigation I ever did was a guy who passed out drunk and choked to death on his own vomit. I bet he wishes someone came bye and pinched his ear.
The comments I have seen posted on here by cops are respectful and informative. If you read my history you will see that I give a lot of people advice on how to avoid getting into trouble.

I think you should step back a pace or two and look carefully about what you are saying. And, by the way, I am not a cop.
First, cops stick up for cops the way teachers stick up for teachers, doctors for doctors, lawyers for lawyers, etc. etc. So, unless you disagree with that point, about half of the indignation in your question should disappear.
Now, let's go a step further. A policeman's job exposes him or her to the very worst in human nature 100% of every day. Every single time they are called in, it implies that somebody has done something to somebody and sometimes in unimaginable circumstances. They see things on a daily basis that we, living our tidy lives protected by them, probably are never exposed to.
They are subjected to abuse, lies, evasions, everything that we as citizens abhore. And what are they asked and trained to do? Take it politely. Do not react. Etcetera. And, by and large, they do. So is it surprising that the highest suicide and divorce rates are in that profession? Could you deal with murder, theft, lies, betrayal, abuse, arrogance, on a daily basis? What a wonderful thing to look forward to when starting the day.
And, don't forget that they have intelligence on who the criminals are. Their problem is not being able to find them, but being able to PROVE that they did the crime. And, in the meantime, they are asked to be pleasant and polite the whole time, while the "criminal" is free to insult and abuse at will.
How many of you, faced with the same conditions, could behave like princes 100% of the time? Some of us get angry and abusive because our coffee break is denied! For heaven's sake! We are asking these people to do one of the most difficult and frustrating jobs on the planet. Then we should SUPPORT THEM! I am not saying at all cops are perfect, but neither are all doctors and lawyers (and fewer professional football and basketball players). But we have to understand the difficulty from a human point of view of what we are asking them to do and treat them accordingly.
So, why should a cop be neutral, since we are not neutral either? But I would suggest they know more about what we are talking about then we would know in three lifetimes. So, for that reason they should be banned from this section? I have exactly the opposite reaction. They are the only ones who are out there and who know what they are protecting us from. And I thank God they are, and thank them every day. There are a few bad ones, who should be doing something else, but 100% of my experience with lawyers has been bad, whereas, with more contact, 100% of my experiences with the police have been good. Even when they were taking me in on a (deserved) DUI.

I am a police officer and I enjoy helping people at work. My husband laughs at me because here I am on my day off on the computer answering police related questions. I like the field I am in and I like talking about it to others.
All my answers (almost all, you will find the occasional snarky one) are serious and not condescending. I've even encouraged a few people to make complaints against police officers if they believe they have been unfairly treated.
I think that if you look at the answers from "real" police officers (I guess you can really never know for sure) they are for the most part very good.

I pray that you are never in need of police help in any form. God forbid that you ever need to simply say "Thank you" to an officer for anything.
But just a quick question in response to your last line (in the original question/comment) - Have you ever been fired for being wrong?
Then why should a cop be any different? They are human, they make mistakes - just like you. No one ever said ALL cops are perfect ALL of the time.

Police officers have a right to be on here just as you and I.Are you denying that they have a freedom of speech?Sorry this is american and cops do save our a*s*ses and they are the first we call when we need help and the last to get respect.I would be willing to bet that you are a teenager between 16-22?
BTW-I just read the question you were talking about, and anyone who asks if she should stand behind a sick bastard that molested her child should be called, retarded sick and whatever names she opened herself up to..,and I am not a cop,I am a freaking mother who loves my children and protect my children from freaking pedophiles..,darrrrrrrr.And you want to bash cops because of the answers?I pray you dont have children.

I am not going to debate everything you said, cause I do not have the time, but keep one thing in mind, its the justice system, like judges (are you following me??) that says if that person is guilty or not , not the cops. The cops just show up and arrest and charge the person, its up to the legal system to find them guilty or not..........
