Two people blaming someone in the state of KY for two counts of theft by unlawful taking. The discovery just came in and all they had were them talking to the grand jury. The record for the person being accused is clean. What will happen, will they drop it since it is mostly she say he say, or will they send this person to jail, please give me any info you have. My husband has a sponsor who has helped us financially and we are paying them a payment each month. Now her husband is demanding we pay them the total in full. We aren't able to do that yet, as we are just getting on our feet. They are taking us to court, threatening to revoke the sponsorship, and put a lien against us so we can't purchase our house. We need to know if they can do this. Up until now, our payments have been fine, and they cash our checks each month. We have never wanted something for nothing. When my husband first got here, and she helped us with our apartment and bills as he couldn't work yet, when he sold his house in England, we wrote her a check in full. We have full intentions of paying them back for things done since then, we just can't do it in one payment. Can you tell us if you know of an immigration lawyer that can answer questions or website where we could see what our rights are and what we are up against. We would appreciate it greatly! Thanks

What is the fine for grand theft check writing charge?

Last year I was told by an overseas client that I had a wire pending. For $70,000. Since he had paid previously in amounts of $35,000 and $15,000 on 4 occasions I had no reason to think it wouldn't. When he gave me confirmation I wrote a check to my mother in law
for $16000 and to my wife to be put into a savings account. When he at first said the wire was delayed I told the bank to hold and redeposit. When he said he couldn't I asked everyone to cancel checks. The bank wouldn't cancel the 2 checks. And then apparently have tried to charge me with grand theft - I guess they don't know it's my mother in law and think I tried to defraud - does anyone have any thoughts? I've never even had a jaywalking ticket but to sleep at night would like to hear this will be dropped or if anyone knows the fine I can pay to avoid a jail sentence for something I didn't do - I have an autistic child and want them to stop

I was watching Fox News and they said that kids now days are becoming so bad because we don't punish them anymore. Fox News suggested we bring back capital punishment or let teachers carry hand guns to scare the kids into submission. I think that is a bit extreme. Your thoughts?

Is it true that in the state of California after winning a judgement in small claims court unless the defendant is willing to pay, there is no other means for you to collect? I thought that if you paid an extra fee, the court would assist you by ordering wage attachments (provided the person has a job). Is there any truth to this? What good does it do to go thru all the trouble of taking someone to court and paying all the stupid court fees if the court itself doesn't help you collect?

... Walter Reed is just the start.. But in all seriousness, we've spent so much on Iraq whlle our returning injured veterans face lack of sufficient care and follow up, much less being constrained to wait months and months for the paperwork mill to draw a first check re their disabilities.

The entire veterans hospital sytem is a disgrace!

(BUT. as far as the paperwork is concerned, and in all fairness it cannot all be blamed on the present administration. A friend's g'mother worked for fed. govt. for 30 years. She told us that she and many others as well, took two 45 min. breaks twice a day, took hr and 1/2 -sometimes 2 hour lunches, and basically did little or no work for the entire 30 years of her government service. This type of behavior is widespread amongst government workers.

WHEN THE PRIME MINISTER OF ISRAEL WAS ASKED WHY THESE SOLDIERS WERE THERE, HE DIDNT ANSWER AND DEMANDED FOR LEBANON TO RETURN THEIR SOLDIERS, AND LEBANON ASKED THE PRIME MINISTER TO RETURN THEIR PEOPLE WHO WERE IN JEWISH PRISON. AND THEN ISRAEL STARTED WAR AND WAS HITTING THE CITIZENS, SO LEBANON DIDNT WANT TO HIT THE CITIZENS AND BY THE END OF THIS NON SENSE IT CAUSED AROUND BILLION DOLLARS IN DAMMAGE AND THE JEWS ARE HAPPY THAT THEY KILLED ANOTHER MUSLIM

Maybe more people would get involved if they could get some real answers. That is the real key to solving our problems. Better media = more informed citizens = change. It's hard for people to have hope for change when they are continually left in the dark. I'm not saying the answeres aren't out there for people to find, but some work really hard, have famillies to look after and they don't have time to search. That is why there is a place for media. Now who's going to come up with an idea to change that very thing that has failed us. Sorry I'm not smart enough or I would have done it allready.
