So Americans are the only people who know how to drive a truck well?? Ignorance...
About Mexicans not knowing how to drive or whatever, why does it matter where they are from??I was researching and there are about 26,000 car-accident involved deaths in Mexico a year. In the United States more than 42,000 people died in a car accident in 2005 and Argentina has the most car accidents in the world. I think it depends on the drivers rather than where they are from.

I am wondering if the American people would support a blockade. Frankly, I assume they won't, and also, I doubt there are any truck drivers who love their jobs enough to fight for them.
A blockade by a single truck would get national attention, if strategically positioned...and God only knows what that avalanche might look like.
I shudder to think that US drivers might tamper with equipment in the truck stops.
Might be an interesting season coming up...

So does that mean American citizens will be able to get a CDL licence easier? I mean how is it fair that we have to get a special licence and physical and keep log books, but they can go by the laws of Mexico to drive in America? Theres gonna be some pissed off truck drivers, might even cause riots?I THINK THE GOVERNMENTS OF BOTH COUNTRYS ARE LOOKING FOR A WAR?

Bad idea. Just who does Bush think are his constituents? Mexicans. Bush is the best President that Mexico ever had!
We should all contact our Congresspersons to put an end to this nonsense. The Teamsters are not going to take this sh*t lying down. there is going to be some Mexican blood flowing on American's highways when our truckers confront the Mexican truckers who are trying to take away their jobs. It won't be a pretty site, that's for sure. Go here to email or fax your Congressperson or contact the whitehouse -

Truck drivers already have very little regard for the general safety of others on the highway. I can only imagine how much worse it's going to be when we have even more trucks on the road, from a country that has no maintenance regulations for their trucks, and drivers with questionable backgrounds. Just another example of how our politicians are allowing this country to become third world. What do they care? They're spending all their time inside the DC Beltway getting chauffeured around in limo's, vacationing somewhere, or flying around in jets on our taxpayer dollars.

The shoe is on the other foot.
When AMERICAN trucks started driving in Canada, the Canadian truckers were upset because American trucks are not as well maintained and have heavier axle loads. (Canadian trucks have triple rear axles, vs double axles for American trucks.)
Every argument the American truckers used to get American trucks into Canada can now be used by Mexican truckers to get Mexican trucks onto American roads.
What goes around, comes around...

this video explains it all. There is much more coming "down the road" than Mexican trucks.

It is going to hurt the wages of the American drivers. Are these more people that Bush says do not want to do the work ? How much more can Bush muck up before he is out ??

I'm very concerned about it. I wonder if there's anything we can do to stop it at this point? I read a recent OOIDA article that something like 96% of the trucks will cross the border uninspected. Yikes!
