Has there been a government program designed to help people that has actually done what it was supposed to do? The Great Society has devastated the inner family of the poor, especially in the minority community. Medicare cost have gotten out of control. Why should we trust the government to do this for us? Their intentions may be well, but their results are horrid

Every video I've seen of a IED exploding next to a US military vehicle it was being driven on an Iraqi road. Aren't all US military vehicles made so that they can travel off road? Don't all Humvees have 4 wheel drive? If a US vehicle isn't on a Iraqi road how would the terrorists ever know where to put the IEDs? Don't Iraqi roads just make US troops sitting ducks? US truck convoys wouldn't work going off road but all the other military vehicles certainly could & the terrorist wouldn't have any idea of where to put their IEDs because they couldn't use the Iraqi roads to target US troop vehicles. Right???

Is it the responsibility of the government to make sure we have what we need? Is it the responsibility of the government to make sure the people have health insurance? Have a job? Have food?

I say no. I say it is my responsibility to provide for myself and my family. I say it is my responsibility to make sure I have health insurance. It is my responsiblity to make sure I have food on my table. As a nation, we have lost the sense of self responsibility, and the notion of doing things for ourselves. Our country was founded on it and it was founded on the idea of people helping each other, instead of a government doing it.

Ok, this is the thing, I want to enlist into the US Navy and my fiance wants to get married when he comes home from MOS school on March 20th and of course he's in the Marine Corp. If i join, could I get stationed anywhere near him? He's being stationed in Quantico, VA. Do they keep married couples together of do they even care? Please help!! Thanks!!

This is not quite the question you might initially think. I realize that there are a lot of people who think going in was a mistake. Or that we should have used more resources elsewhere.

I am really curious as to whether there are people with a military background or otherwise who would have executed the Iraq operation differently. People not opposed to the war, or who can at least look "militarily" at what has been done from March of 2003 onwards, and critique it with the benefit of hindsight. Take the stated goals of the Bush administration, and tell me how you would have achieved them differently. Strategy and tactics.

I'm having trouble with a roomate in Philadelphia. I need legal advice on how to legally kick her out of my apartment from a lawyer, but I don't have money to throw around. I've heard that there are places you can go online to get free legal advice (I mean actually asking a lawyer how to go about things, not just reading laws) especially with tenant laws, but I'm reluctant to just go anywhere that pops up on google. If anyone has used a website to get free legal advice, and can vouch that the website is good and the legal advice you got was good, I would really like to know what site you went to. I simply need to know how many of you are sick of the same old garbage we get from our politicians, and would actually have the guts to vote for someone who is going to make a difference for the better?

I sold an item on ebay and sent it to the winning bidder, they paid through paypal and then filed a dispute that i had not sent it. When they recieved it they then said they did not want it and would send it back. I never recieved it and i have a proof of posting but not a tracking number which they said they require and paypal voted the dispute in their favour, now they have the item and my money, what can i do?

My friend's fiancee's ex-wife is dating a convicted sex offender! She knows about it and still sees him. She has 2 daughters in her home and won't let the father see them. We think she is trying to make sure the children won't say anything to their father about this. The 7 year old is peeing her pants. To me, that is a sign the sex offender is doing something to her! CPS won't go over to the mother's house and check it out. What can I tell my friend to do about this? The father and mother go to court I guess next month. Please, I have been trying to look for information for her, and then I thought of this! Give me some honest answers everyone! The police said they can do a welfare check and that's all they can do, unless when they do the check they see something suspicious.
