my greedy landlord rised our rent by 600 dollars and she says it's because she is going to do major renovations to the apt, and she also stated she needs to have access to the apt 24/7 so the workers can go and come as they please. So i was wondering what legal rights I have, should I still be paying the same amount of rent while our apt is going to be fixed, since this is going to be a major inconvienece for us and also is she allowed to have access to apt 24/7 while this is going on. I would be very, very grateful for some advice, if you know about my rights or if there is a phone no. or website that would be helpfull? Thanks in advance.

Recently Sen McCain (his staff) posted a question about controlling government spending. I read hundreds of your responses and recognized a degree of similarity in the recommendations. Do you believe anything will come of this? Do you believe any politician has the moral and political courage to move those recommendations forward? Why or why not?

I have a few questions for all of you Bush haters. First of all, I know for a fact that if Iraq/Iran/Afghanistan attacked the U.S., you would all hate George Bush for not stopping it. Yet when he does some prevention (a.k.a. the Iraq and Afghanistan wars), you still hate him. Isn't it better to be fighting there than here? It was going to happen sooner or later. Also, why do you blame him for Hurricane Katrina? He didn't send the storm to Louisiana. He also isn't responsible for evacuating the state, it's the governer's job to warn the citizens of a deadly storm. Why is everything Bush's fault when all he's doing is trying to look out for the welfare of the U.S.? Are you just ungrateful? Stop blaming him for all of the problems he has no control over!

didn't call me back? I came home on leave after 4 months away and tried to contact my recruiter and left a message on his cell. True it is Sunday and it was earlier today. OK, I'm 15 years old, I will be 16 on April 3, 2007. My Girlfriend is 14. Weve been dating for a year behind our parents backs because we were forced to break up last June. We kept dating while everyone thought we were just friends.We were dating for one year as of yesterday (march 3, 2007). Our parents came across some of our recent emails and found out we were dating, and now My parents told me i can not contact her until im 18. And Her mom said she is not allowed to contact me either. But we have been contacting eachother through our friends anyway. Now her mother wishes to take out a restraining order against me so i cannot see her or contact her. We have not been sexually active and there is NO history of violence. I would never lay my hands on her and she knows that. She still wants to be with me, and me with her, Can her mom get a Restraining order against her daughter's will with no violent or sexual activity?? I Live in Virginia if that changes anything. Answers Please!!!!!!!

Under thre Auspices of vanishing congress,communists of all shades have entered the power corridors of India and are in a position to arm twist the government into ways of communism.
the other sub Groups of communism like naxals, maoits and others are gaining ground and proposals for negotiating with them and inducting them in the government are in progress.It appears that in the next election either communist will come back in greater majority or they may turn out to be the most disruptive elements in the progress of India. I would like to Rephrase my last question. I actually meant that my mom social security number was use for many purposes and i wanted to know what we can do to report that situation. We were thinking of getting a lawyer. We know the company and location that did it and we are tracking the person who has used it. The number they called has tracked their voice. What can possiblity happen to the people in the company? (we know it happened with more than one person in the apartment complex in the office)

I was told we can report them for felony and have them tracked down with undercover cops.

I live in NYC. I put the initial payment on an room today (around 3-4 pm) because I was expecting to move in by evening, but something happened and I notified the landlord asap (8pm) to cancel. He said he didn't have the time to go back to the apartment today so I have to hold on to the keys until tomorrow or later. The landlord told me that he has to deduct $100 of what I paid for his loss, but it has been barely 5 hours and he still had another room in the same house that's still waiting for a tenant. I think this is so unfair. Can somebody tell me if this is legal ASAP? and if not, please give me reference to the part of the NYC rent law that states this. Thanks!
