I suspect you need to know this for some sort of essay. Any law book for students will help you with this one.

If you are thinking of applying for this job you need better spelling and grammar than you show on this posting, no offence intended.

You wouldn't qualify due to your grammar skills (no offense). A clerk-magistrate does not have to be a lawyer. In fact, a clerk-magistrate cannot give legal advice in most circumstances. Some knowledge of the law is preferred. (In Massachusetts anyways).
