I already stand somewhere as a moderate. I tend to agree with the economics of Republican Party and the social liberties of the Democratic Party. Yep, sometimes the two do not fit together real well, but it's not too difficult. I'm an Independent as well, and more often than not the Republicans have gotten my vote. But that has changed. After the experience of the last six years, I may never vote for another Republican again, for any reason.

I have always been to the right, but never quite agreed with everything my parents tried to program me with. I suppose in the last few years I have understood the qualifier "moderate" and have applied it to my political belief system. Without the option to term myself "moderate", I think I would be very unhappy having to ally myself with the firmly established right.
