Cons like to bring up the fact that the Bible states that homosexuality is wrong, and use that as an argument against it.

The Bible also states that it is a sin to interact with a menstruating woman (Leviticus 15). We all commit this sin on a daily basis.

Why is it okay to ignore that instruction of the Bible and not others?

I mean, I heard it, so it must be true.

Right?

"I believe that George Bush is surrounded by some of the most scheming, devious, ruthless men to have found their way into government since the days of the Borgias. I believe that they were criminally negligent in failing to respond to intelligence about a potential attack by al-Qaida, and that they have sought to disguise their incompetence by classifying crucial documents."

"I believe, too, that the Bush government seized the opportunity provided by the attacks to pursue a longstanding plan to invade Iraq and reshape the Middle East, knowing full well that Saddam Hussein had nothing to do with 9/11. Bush deliberately misled the American people about the links between 9/11 and Iraq and about Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction. He is responsible for the murder of many tens of thousands of Iraqis."

Because he attends the United Church of Christ in Chicago?

The United Church of Christ is not to be confused with the "Church of Christ." The United Church of Christ, however, supports homosexual marriage, abortion, environmental justice, globalism, the International Criminal Court, the Palestinian movement and believes that Israel is illegally occupying the covenant land. The UCC seems to conveniently justify and legitimize his beliefs that social progressivism is equal to Christ and he writes in his memoirs that his own salvation was not an "epiphany." He reasoned after his daughter asked about life after death, "I wasn't sure what happens when we die, any more than I was sure where the soul resides or what existed before the Big Bang."

My assumption is that it would force the automobile industry, both foreign and domestic, to make vehicles of those class more fuel efficient. It would seem that this would lower America's dependence on foreign oil, but are there other rewards or consequences of enforcing such standards on the industry?

Bush lying about WMD...plus...The United Nations charter has a provision which was agreed to by the United States formulated by the United States in fact, after World War II. It says that from now on, no nation can use armed force without the permission of the U.N. Security Council. They can use force in connection with self-defense, but a country can't use force in anticipation of self-defense. Regarding Iraq, the last Security Council resolution essentially said, 'Look, send the weapons inspectors out to Iraq, have them come back and tell us what they've found -- then we'll figure out what we're going to do. The U.S. was impatient, and decided to invade Iraq -- which was all pre-arranged of course. So, the United States went to war, in violation of the charter.

Is this what Jesus meant? Why do liberals suddenly become Bible scholars when they feel like tripping a conservative? Are we not to protect those "being led away to slaughter", and, "no man hath greater love than this, that he lay down his life for a friend"? If a man threatens my friends and family and has a track record of backing his threats with action, should I not defend them?
