Call the labor board in your state. They can't make your former employer pay the vacation, but they can force them to pay the hourly. If you aren't covered by the state labor board, call the U.S. dept. of labor, the number is in the book.

You have to call the Department of labor and tell them your situtation. He will have to pay you for the hours you worked. He might no thave to pay you for the vacation depending on the company's policy on vacation.

Have you gone in and asked them, some places have the checks on hand and if they wrote it that means that they aren't holding the check, meaning that it is somewhere. Call the Owner, I don't they think are withholding it, it just sounds like he wants to talk to you, or get it from him in person.

Will book keeper verify what you got is different fro what she wrote?

If so report it to the US department of Labor, the IRS, and the Social Security Administration.
