I think he is a whore. He will do and say anything to become president. He thinks that he is funny and engaging (and he sometimes is), he thinks he is tough (and sometimes he is) and he thinks that he can unite people ( which, at times, he has).... but on all of these points, he turns around and he contradicts himself to court the base; it looks insincere and panicky.

He has strongly criticized Falwell and Robertson (deservedly, I thought) and turned around and spoke at Liberty University. He criticized Cheney and Rumsfield (deservedly I thought) and then he "runs" on the Senate floor to apologize to Cheney... those were Cheney's words and McCain did not contradict him. Politically, Cheney slapped McCain down by stating that. Why did McCain take that? Because Cheney is still popular to the GOP base. These are just examples, there are many more I won't get into.

I actually like McCain. But that doesn't mean I want him to be president. He's too weak of an individual.

John McCain is not credible. He lost the nomination to G. Bush for the 2000 election and was extremely bitter about it and did not hesitate to let it be known that G. Bush was a cheater.

Now he is 100% behind him only to gain Republican money and support for his campaign for the 2008 election therefore, I do not consider him a sincere person worthy of the presidency.

The White House can afford to fit in a guy who is a flip-flopper who has NEVER come out any good original idea to claim as his own. McCain seems to have the habit of getting imprisoned/trapped with everything he gets himself involved, and before you know it, he has to spend his time trying to get out of his trapped mess. Not the sort of dream person America looks for in a President. Hey, for a so-called American patriot, he can't even search north, south, east, and west of USA for children born within the US to adopt without having to run to foreign lands to give some poor kids an American future. Good grief, can one really trust that McCain would look after the poor and the least fortunate within America?

We believe he was brainwashed when he was a POW. He wants to give too much to illegal immigrants and he really isn't listening to the people. He fought in Viet Nam and should understand how unpopular the Viet Nam war was, yet he is still willing to go to war and support war efforts. Several of our members wore John's POW bracelet and all of us prayed for his safe return ,but now he is acting as unamerican as Obama, Durbin, Gutierrez, Kennedy and numerous others.

Sounds like John Kerry running as a Republican to me. He'll never win. I'd like to see a third party candidate win for once. It would shake the very foundation of politics as we know it. The GOP's and Dems would be scrambling for votes and catering to the peoples needs, changing their very values to appease the people.

I think he will do a fine job as president. He has foreign policy experience as well as domestic policy, which is something this country has lacked for over a decade in its leadership. He also doesn't put up with much flack, which is something else we need. There are not many promising candidates this time around.

I never liked his views, but I used to respect him as a person. Recently he has done a 180 on abortion though to appeal to the Kristian Konservative Kause and that does not appeal to me.

I liked McCain way better when he was on the outside of the Bush Cult, who pretty much ruined him politcally in 2000.

to see him cozying up to the current morons in the oval office bums me out. There is no love lost between McCain and the Bush Reich, and they ruined him once - he should keep them at arms distance or they will do it again.

Gutsy, intelligent, honorable, dedicated, and a viable candidate.

I think Mitt Romney is an even better choice, and one that may be more acceptable to Democrats and Independents.
