Should we let them learn on their own that without an education there is a huge chance they could live in poverty? Should we do more to prevent young people from dropping out or just let them?

The government takes like 40% of our wages for taxes. We then have to pay for healthcare, unless we don't have jobs and live off of the system in which people that do work have to pay with their taxes for those people to get free healthcare. By law, the government can go in and take your land/home from you for no apparent reason. If you have not paid the insurance/taxes on your home and it catches on fire, the fire department doesn't have to put out the fire. All of these things and many more were brought up in a Buisness Law class, so I ask, is America really a communist country?

The Republican Ticket is Dick Cheney- Jeb Bush?

Dick said he wasn't running. So did Gore, yet people still keep asking Gore if he's running. Would it be so impossible for Mr. Cheney to suddenly have a change of heart? No pun intended.

Would we not hear the chant of not changing administrations in the middle of the wars?

Would it surprise you?

Yeah, I am British and I have no clue about the Constitution.
I keep hearing it in some of my favourite American shows (Simpsons, family guy), and I haven't got a clue about it.
Things like the ammendments, Bill of Rights, that kind of stuff. If you could answer, I would be gratful.
Thankyou.

Why are so many people so against it, I've been reading a lot of comments. And some people think it would ruin our country. I myself would vote for Hilary. I just think she is a very strong person and very wise. So what's wrong with that?? I don't think its fair for people to be putting them down

Sorry, I'm trying to understand the conservative logic here...

Wait. If Clinton is at fault for not trying harder to get Bin Laden (he would have only been extradited to Saudi Arabia anyway, if found), then shouldn't Bush have fixed Clinton's mistake immediately by working to capture Bin Laden?

But alas, going golfing and swimming near Crawford, Texas and Camp David was far more important.

Both men are preachers - by training and in function.

Both men pretend to know what is best for the rest of us.

Both men spend their days trying to tell the rest of us what to do.

Both men claim that in doing so they seek to "save the world" - both indeed speak in apocryphal terms.

Neither man is satisfied with the right to get up on his stump and try to convince people to voluntarily change their ways - both want to use government to force you to change your ways.

Both men have a holier-than-thou attitude - just with different definitions of what constitutes holiness.

Both men can line up people who agree with them - but neither can provide any actual, tangible proof that the behaviors they seek to limit are in fact hastening doomsday.

Both men have been wrong so often you wonder why anyone gives either man any credence.

Why do some of us try to draw distinctions among the various behaviors that control freaks seek to curtail? Either we're free or we're not!

We the Popular Voting People?

Recently someone brought to my attention, a simple yet complex question. The question was, "How does the Electoral Process works, vs. the Popular vote?" Well we went through the usual, the voting population of each state, combine their votes to a certain number at which time an electoral vote is place, based on the population of the state. This provides a fair playing field for states with a small population.
Then he said, "Then why is that if we take the combined popular vote of each election of the people without their state representation being involved: why is it that the popular vote seems to win and thus really represents the voice of the national people, without state representatives. I quickly thought of the Articles of Confederations. What do you think is correct. Has our combined voice really been muted due to our state representative voice? Or has the state always represented the best interest of it's residents?

And if you are somehow living the illusion that they'll thank you.. . . ho ho ho. . . I just talked with some of them and they say they have a helluva surprise for you . Your hatred of THEIR Commander, your non-binding but certainly discouraging resolutions, and your overall scoffing at the U.S.A. , has made them vow to not vote for a Democrat . Now, you can believe me or not. . . . . . .but what happens AFTER they get home should come as no surprise to you !!! You've got almost 80% of 500,000 soldiers pissed. . . and 80% of their family members. . . . Hmmmmm. . . . . How many VOTES does that come out to be ?????

This is the second time i have had fraud by someone using yahoo.com This is luxidog@yahoo.com this time. I want to know if you will do anything about this. I think you should be responsible to those of us that are innocent and I don't want to hear about privacy. If this person is defrauding someone then you need to help in enforcing the shutdown and prosecution of this individual.
Will you do anything to this person? Will you shut down his e-mail

you drive up to an intersection and approach a stopsign. you stop. there is a cop that just went through the intersection so you HAD to come to a complete stop. As the cop passes and the road is clear, you see in the distance an oncoming car from the right traveling at a high rate of speed. Since it looks clear, you move forward through the interserction. The car approaches so quickly, he hits you in the upper right hand corner of your car causing an accident. According to the law, the person who hit the car that was stoped and moved through the intersection had the right-a-way. Which makes the one that was hit, in the wrong. The driver that was hit has a suspended license. No one was cited or given a ticket on the scene. No one was hurt. All parties were told to go home. All parties had their cars towed to their homes. What happens next?
