When my ex was stationed in Iraq, I sent him this kind of stuf:
-glasses cleaner (in the form of wipes-good even if he doesn't wear glasses cause they can clean the desert goggles too)
-Gold bond foot powder (helps keep feet dry and keeps from developing foot ailments)
-baby wipes (in resealable packages. They can be used when showers become few and far between)
-Gatorade/kool aid individual packets (plain old water gets old after a while)
-decks of playing cards
-bottles of his favorite soda (cans crush too easily. My ex loved this because he could keep them under his bunk)
-dvds of home videos
-his favorite magazines and books he liked
-the kids' crafts or coloring pages/drawings (if you have kids)
-letters (the handwritten kind, not emails. Something he can pull out and read when ever he wants to be "close" to you)
-stationary and stamps (that way he can write you letters if email becomes unavailable)
-small board games (like the travel versions) to fend off boredom
Thinking along these lines will help you come up with other ideas. Also, ask your husband what he and his comrads would enjoy as a change of pace. They'll appreciate you thinking of them! Good luck!

You know, my husband gets a lot of stuff sent to him from relatives, and he says he usually ends up giving it away or throwing it away.
When he first left, I sent him so much stuff, but now, I only send him what he needs. Occasionally I will send him special things that I have made, things that come from the heart. But other than that, it is hard to think of things to send them!
My last package to him I sent about 5 days ago. He had asked for a brand new uniform, cologne, tweezers, a nice pair of boxers so he can wear them on the plane home! He will be here in about 10 days!!!

Go around and take pictures or videos of friends and family. Somebody video taped a whole week ( bits and pieces) of the family and the things they did and sent it to the husband. It gave him a glimpse of what he was missing. Stuff like the kids getting up and ready for school, eating breakfast , homework, arguments, supper time, you saying good night before you go to bed. Stuff like that to help him stay in-tune with whats going on.

Well if you want you could try & sneak some alcohol & dirty magazines. They don't allow them over there so if you snuck some in food boxes or whatever I'm sure that would boost his moral (Especially if they're of you). Or when my ex was over in Iraq I sent him just everyday stuff that he needed like razors, bodywash, power bars, loofahs, shampoo, soap, shaving cream, or books & if he likes Sudoku or Crosswords send him a book of that too. I'm sure anything you send him will be greatly appreciated. If you want good ways to sneak "bad stuff" to him just ask me. I sent lots of good stuff out there for my friends.

I did a Care Package and sent it to any soldier at Christmas. Some of the things in the box were:
DVDs
CDs
baby wipes
Q-tips
Lip balm
Crossword Puzzles
Crystal lite individuals
munchies (hard candies, potato chips, individual pringle packs)
cup of soup mix
books.
Anything that you send I am sure will be sooo appreciated.

Magazines, books, handheld games (like texas hold 'em), suduko, card games that he can play with his guys (rook, phase 10, pinnochle), squirt guns, toys from McDonalds, travel coffee cups, coffee pot for his room, homemade cookies (he can't get those at the shoppette:) ), baby wipes, batteries, markers, stationary, curtains for the window (if he's in a trailer) w/ maybe his fav. football team on it, a pillowcase with your butt, boobs, or lips all over it in glow in the dark paint, a blanket, chapstick, eyedrops, and magnets (to hang up pictures of you!).

The way to a man's heart is through his stomach.
Send contraband! Home-made cookies, brownies, rice Krispie treats, magic cookie bars, etc. etc. etc. Nothin' says lovin like somethin' from the oven!
If you have kids, get them to make something for their dad, finger paint a t-shirt, or a baseball cap. Anything that he can look at and think of them.

Is there something that you bake that he loves. Sure you can go to the shoppette, but nothing beats homebaked cookies.
