Why are so many people so against it, I've been reading a lot of comments. And some people think it would ruin our country. I myself would vote for Hilary. I just think she is a very strong person and very wise. So what's wrong with that?? I don't think its fair for people to be putting them down

There is nothing wrong with a president of a different race. We are all intelligent people and it does matter what color you are to be a good leader. I believe as a female that we also can do the job and do it just as well as a man. I do believe that many countries see females as less superior than a man and that a female president would not be taken seriously from the leaders of some other countries. But we could still do the task that we are working for. All the power to us American for changing our future and electing a female or a race other than white.

I personally don't see anything wrong with a black president or a female president. I think that America is afraid of these two personas for two different reasons but there is one thing that they both have in common - America's sense of conformity. Let me explain why they're afraid of a black president because this just isn't a black person's country because blacks weren't born in the United States. I think that many men old and young think that women are the weaker sex of the two and wouldn't know how to handle or govern a country as big as the U.S. But the thing that stands in the way of a woman or a black being president is the sense of conformity from the U.S.; the United States has always been run by white men for more than 500 years. I also think that the U.S. government and the people aren't ready for a black or a woman president.

Nothing is wrong with a black or a woman president. I do feel that God created men and women differently. Women are definitely more emotional beings. I am speaking as a woman and feel that someone like Condeleeza Rice would really do her best. Is she the best person for the job? Not sure just know that she is very put together. Sex and race do not matter. Hello, this is 2007 - are we not better than this?

I think its time for a female president rather she is white or black. It seems as if the man we got now cant get a grip on things let a woman do it. But we all know that it wont be a black woman so let MRS. HILARY do her thing. The world i think is not ready for a black president but best believe when that time comes the world will be as one. Its time for a new change and i think that Hilary can do it.

.
american doesnt want the image of a women president leader projected to the world cause like always there is a stereotype of wat a women can do.

People fail to realize that a women can sometimes be a better spokesperson (expressing her feelings and hardships whether raising kids, working jobs, struggling to compete with men...)

also about the ethnicity. if the presidential canidate is female and black she would have a hard time winning votes unless people (youth) changed some stereotypes and send out the true message like it was in mlkjrs times.

racism still alive but we cant let them put salt on our wounds.

borack obama may have a chance if people have a major interest in his campaign (maybe even start a movement)
the one thing is though he will probally get the support of blacks and muslims..
but people are clueless. george bush is not great cuz hes white, hes not that great of a politician

in the end,. wat if hilary and borack HAVE better diplomatic skills and executive skills then bush and others? what if they can relate to global countries better, form being people in minorities as a politician...

well just take it seriously. war war war. world war 3 if someone continues like bush and dick chennye!

youth can only change wat america is.

There is nothing wrong with either. Look beyond the exterior facade and ask yourself if the person or persons are qualified to lead our country as President regardless of gender or race. If you can get beyond the fluff and marketing build up to find any credible data which will help you form an intelligent opinion, make your decision, respect the decision of others then await the outcome.

Well, I think it's about time we see a woman or black president. I'm tired of seeing these old ethnocentric white men leading the country. Except for Bill Clinton; of course. The problem is that I have never seen a decent black man or woman run for the presidency before. Al Sharpton and the Reverend Jesse Jackson would never get my vote. Hillary Clinton is iffy at best. I think Barrack Obama brings some new light to the White House and I'm definitely going to vote for him. I truly hope that he's the first non-white to win the presidency..........

I see nothing wrong with having a black or female president, however, I do think it's wrong to vote for a candidate purely by gender or race. Those who act as though a woman or a black president will ruin politics are just ignorant and enjoy getting a rise out of others that are less unintelligent.

Why do you think the symbol of US is the Statue of Liberty but women were the last group of people to be given the right to vote?

Why do we clam that we don’t discriminate and at the same time all government applications require you to put your race/color?

Why do you think under 21 year old military personal can carry and use a gun to kill, but as a civilian the same military person is legally not allowed to carry a gun?

The answer my friend is simple, majority of the people are: double face, selfish, greedy, back stabbing, ignorant phonies. We say one thing and do the opposite. To really measure the temperature of the Americans take a look at our government (the government is after all the reflection of us.) And today the government is predominantly white mail.

Women are driven by emotion; they make irrational decisions based on hormones and other extrinsic factors. Men tend to utilize a more detached and well thought approach to solving problems. Hilary is the embodiment of the opportunistic conniving detached politician.

Barack, on the other hand, is perceived widely to be an "Uncle Tom".
