go to stars and stripes web site, it is the military newspaper a while ago they had links to pen pal sites so people could find soldiers to write to.
I remember when I was deployed I wrote to many people and it was always nice to get mail from girls. however the one person I went and saw after I got back was an old WWII vet he would alway write about all the stuff he did durning the war and it alway reminded me of why I was here doing what I did.

You should check out an organization called Soldier's Angels.
This is a great organization where members of the community who want to support our men and women overseas can "adopt" a Soldier who is deployed overseas.
Once you adopt your soldier you can correspond with them through letters and emails, send books, send care packages with sundry items, pogie bait (candy), and/or whatever you choose.
when i was deployed overseas i had a Soldier's Angel, and i can tell you it was just the best thing in the world over there. A random citizen whom you have never met, taking the time and effort to make you feel appreciated. Getting a box full of goodies and a letter at mail call helps wash away the stress of the days combat.
It also allows you to get to know one person out of the millions you fight for, and that makes it all worth it.

I doubt you'd be in a position to locate a area the position you could %. a soldier because of privateness concerns. yet both way it shouldnt must be in simple terms one individual..an similar one..over and once extra any soldier appreciates notes and thanks playing cards from each person.
