What did the former communist Soviet Union do in the past to neighboring countries that surrounded its borders, that used to so infuriate the freedom, and democracy loving American people? That we now find ourselves doing the same damnable thing in many countries, especially Iraq thanks to foreign policies of our federal government?!!!!

I recently cosigned for a friend. She had no credit, and I had perfect credit.

When my parents found out, they were livid. Apparently they are still responsible for me, because I am not 21 yet? How is this possible? According to every place I have seen (including the NYS website), the age of majority in NY is 18. (I am 19, and will be turning 20 in about a month.

They told me that if they were tied to this loan, the only way to fix it would be for me to emancipate myself. WTF is going on here? If the age of majority is 18 in NY, am I not already "emancipated"?

Ive been debating on whether to enlist into the Marines as 0331 (Machine Gunner) or to take a shot at Army Ranger. Im obviously not making a decision of the answers on this but I just want to see what other people besides the Recruiters say. Ive been to both, a Marnes and Army, recruiter and its about time I need to make a decision. Im leaning towards the Marines, because Hell; its the Marines, need I say more? But what does anyone else out there think?

You go to a car dealer & buy a "low-mileage, prime condition" car. You choose the car because it registers 12,000 miles & the dealer tells you that it was driven by a local little-old-lady. You sign the contract and take responsibility for making monthly payments.

Later, you discover that the odometer was rolled back by the dealer (the car really has 150,000 miles), and that the car was purchased by the dealer in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina (the car had been flooded).

Do the fraudulent representations made to you at time of purchase have any bearing on your financial obligations for the car? If you turn your back on the car, can people accuse you of "supporting financial irresponsibility?"

Well, George W. Bush sold me on a war. And based on his initial representations, I bought and strongly supported it. But since then, I've learned that the things Bush told me are not true (e.g., yellowcake, WMDs, Iraq-9/11 connection, etc.). Do I "support the terrorists"???????

Middle Number Votes are where each MP writes down a number and for example of 101 the highest & lowest 50 are thrown out (to determine budget spending levels, prison sentence laws, minimum age requirements, ...)
Lottery Democracy is where either one chamber of parliament is filled with say 100 people who (expressed an interest and were) entered into a lottery that chooses who wins the seats, or one party contesting the election is governed by a panel that is formed in this way

Interselection is where either seats in parliament or the power centre of a party contesting the elections is composed of the winners of a big tournament event where each person who comes is a contestant and a 10+9+8+7...points voter in a secret ballot election held at the end of the day
Other alternative parties include, among others, a panel of the 15 biggest trade-unions, a panel of ethnic minorites or religious groups, or of SMEs. I could go on, but this is not neccessarily part of the question.

To this day, I have never seen any video coverage from the airport that terrible day, that conclusively show any of the 9/11 passengers actually boarding onto the jetliners! Where is the video of the terrorists as well actually boarding onto the 747s! I've seen footage of people boarding on jetsliners in some Oregon airport that the government wants us to believe was Boston airport, but I've not seen on the TV news or on the internet even, any actually video footage from any security cameras showing the passengers getting onto the planes!

In a system where people only have one vote, they often wish they could have voted for the party they wanted most, but feel they had to vote for one of the top two instead.

How about the Triangular Ballot alternative? It ensures each winning MP receives some support & backing from an absolute majority of voters, how?
In Line One the voter ticks either the Labour or Conservative box;
In Line Two, he chooses between Labur & Lib Dem;
In Line Three, he can choose between the Lib Dem & Tory candidates.
And in Line Four, he writes the three letter code of one of the 40-100 other parties (a full lamented list of all these is available at each booth, along with 20 mission statement words from each).

The winner has beaten both main alternatives outright.
The second place (won 1, lost 1) and the party getting the most Line 4 votes will be main opponents of the winner at the next election.
The party that has lost against the second placed party, falls into the Line 4 list.

WTNH’s Blog (http://wtnh.tv/blogs/index.php/anchors/2007/02/23/p638#more638) poses the question above – I feel this should not just be a Statewide question but something brought to a National Level…. Click into their blog above and give them your answer or post them here and I will link you over.

So - What do you all think and feel about this very realistic question????

I heard, this morning, that the cost of the Olympic Games in England in 2012 had quadrupled. If you or I asked for a job to be done and got an estimate, this would be our fault because an estimate is just what it says. However, I always ask for a quotation, there being a very big difference. Why does a Government not do this, after all if I was to get a job done and it cost me 4 times as much as quoted, I would be bankrupt!
Is it a way to hand taxpayers money to the contractors and is this a pre-detemined strategy?
