Also, what makes them legal? To me, they sound a lot like legal extortion ("if you wanna live here, you gotta pay our dues, and follow our rules"). How is it legal for an organization other than a state or city government to require you to pay money to own a house in their area, and have the power to put a lien on your house if you don't? Can someone lead me to the answers on this one?

Opinions?

I think it is because for every US soldier that dies, both the Demoncrats and their allies in Al Qaida gain political capital.

Will I have to pay it back? Should I contact them? can they take legal proceeding's out against me?
Its not back pay, or untaken holiday pay, and it is rather a large sum of money.

I remember when I was young boy, about 45 years ago, I asked my older brother is we could play "Cops & Robbers", He said "No, they are not enemies anymore." Then I asked if we could play "Cowboys & Indians." Agains he said they we couldn'r because they were not enemies anymore. So, then I asked him, just who was the enemy then, and he told me, "Well... the Arabs are the enemy now!"

Now that I am grown, I have known many Arab-Americans and find them to be extremely compassionate, and loveable people, certainly not my enemies!

When did "Arabs" become our enemies?

We are open 12 hours a day during the week and 8 hours saturday and 4 sunday. When we are open there is almost always only 1 person here at a time. When we have to go to the bathroom or want to run across the street to grab a drink we put a sign on the door saying we will be back in 5 minutes (it usually only takes a couple though). Well one of the owners sent an e-mail out last night saying that no matter what we are not allowed to lock the door during business hours and it is not ok to say we will be back in 5 minutes. Is this legal, is there anything I can do to fight it? I've already sent her back an e-mail telling her I didn't think it was fair and why and I am waiting for an e-mail back from my states labor office but who know's how long that will take.

It was a finial (weighed 2-3 ond was 20 feet high). she was just walking along. They took the finial from me and I had to tell them to call the police to even get a picture of it. Now they are offering us a small amount and she may have a scar for this.

Oil is the largest single commodity traded on the international market. This international oil trade has always been in US dollars. These petrodollars create a high demand on the international currency market for dollars and helps support the value of the dollar.
If the USA should convert to another energy source, the international trade in oil would decline and so would the demand for dollars on the currency market. As the US international trade deficit widens, which also lowers demand for dollars, combined with a possible declining international oil trade, a situation could arise which would make the bottom fall out of the value of the dollar.
Our dependency on oil goes far beyond the need for energy. How can the USA convert to another energy source and still maintain a strong currency?
