Creeping socialism. Communism doesn't happen over night. Communism is one 'well intentioned' idea after another until the self appointed, well intentioned forces that say they are here to save you own everything.

The line between socialism and communism is blurry. Even tho we call countries like Cuba China, the DPRK, and back in the day the USSR communist, they were really socialist dictatorships, not pure communism. Pure communism is incredibly difficult to run on a national scale.

Yours is a biased question that betrays your ignorance of the world. All existing socialist countries in the world today are democracies: Sweden, Canada, Nicaragua, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, etc.

It is the capitalist-dominated countries that are turning away from democracy and into dictatorial corporate states, ie. the US, Italy. Even communist China is joining in with its Market Leninism.
