He is serving in the army and its his job to go to war like all the other soldiers who risk there lives every day.The fact that he is a prince has no relevance in this situation.
The fact that we do not support Blair and Bush's stance on the issue does not mean we should not support the soldiers doing a very difficult job.I just wish no one had to be there and want them all home .Every son and daughter is precious regardless of social status or nationality so lets hope this madness ends soon and no more lives are wasted whoever they might be.
If Bush and Blair want to continue this war then they should fight it alone and stop using the armed forces to flex there political muscles. They are both a discrace.

Why is it so stupid? he is in the " Royal Army " and have you considered the fact that he actually wants to go, It is an excellent way to show that as a nation we fight together with no exceptions to class or privilege, and as a member of the Royal family he is setting a good standard to all young people whatever the reasons for the conflict may be, yes there is always a possibility that he could get killed or kidnapped, but his family is sharing that risk with all the families in Britain who are seeing their loved ones go to Iraq and are probably extremely proud of him and are naturally concerned for his welfare at the same time.

Throughout history the Royals have never shirked from military duty, and nor should they, so stop blubbering!!!

Even though he will be put 'on the front line' I'm sure that there will be no actual danger of that happening.

I'm sure he will fight / lead his men very well and he will face danger - but you can bet that it will all be a carefully calculated risk. They know of his importance and what his death / capture would mean.

Sending royals into battle is not a new thing. Many members of the Royal families have served in conflicts.

I think that it is a good idea, especially as they will hold honouree roles at the head of the forces.

I also think that it is great that he wants to serve / fight for his country - he's showing real guts by wanting to go & get stuck in.

I dont agree. If he is going to be the commander of the armed forces one day...he has to know how the forces operate on the ground......he will not be sent into a high risk battle zone though, as the risks you have mentioned are all too true.

I do not believe that anyone who joins the Military should be given preferential treatment due to a title, or gain any extra favour.....who cares if he is Royalty, he has to do his duty.

His Uncle Andrew flew in the Falklands war, so I think it right that Harry fight in this one.

When the Prince Imperial of France was killed by Zulu warriors on the first of June 1878 whilst on patrol with the British Army his superior officers and comrades were held to blame and had their careers blighted.
Exactly the same thing will happen if Prince Harry is killed or even injured.

in accordance to probability the project isn't that he can not or gained't wrestle on the fringe of his fellow squaddies yet that his being there would placed each and each and each and each diverse individual round him in additional suitable probability. He would nicely be the point for each terrorist and effortless crew in Iraq. i imagine of having a member of the Royal kinfolk as a hostage would look like a reliable bargaining gadget. it really is in simple terms no longer sturdy psychologically for Britain both to comprehend he'd been captured. truly because of truth he's a Prince does no longer inevitably advise that he's able to make judgements on themes like this to any quantity more suitable than the diverse soldier....you're in a position to favor to favor he's dealt with the same and any judgements made about his vacation to Iraq were made by skill of those in authority - both over him and the military as an entire.

Not at all. He is a soldier...a soldier belongs with his boys (as he says). I have a much greater respect for Prince Harry now. I would follow him if he were king (and i were british). I think every leader should do time in the military. If he gets killed, it will be no more sad than if I were killed or any of my friends who didnt make it back. Its a soldiers duty to be with his men, and i respect Prince Harry for not stepping back from his duty.

What was the point of him joining the army then? His Uncle Andrew served in the Falkland War in '82 and did his country and the Navy proud. He also helped to save many lives in his helecopter rescue missions. God speed, Prince Harry........at last a leader who leads from the front!

If he is allowed to join the Army and therefore we have to pay for his training/wages then I feel strongly that he should be sent to Iraq. Otherwise whats the point? He could have got a job in MacDonalds like all the other stupid adolescents.

So why was he allowed to join the army? His uncle, Prince Andrew, saw active service during the Falklands war, flying helicopters in the navy.
