Look at the pop culture pundits - Popular conservatives Rush, Coulter, Savage, O'Reilly - all angry people with no sense of humor. (Well, Rush is kind of funny but I don't know if it is intentional).

Popular Liberals Jon Stewart, Al Franken, Garofolo - all use humor to poke at things.

Why is that?

RECRUITERS:Just joined the Navy, I swore in at MEPS a week ago, signed my contract. Can i be discharged?
I had a misdemeanor charge from 1997-1998,but thought It was cleared, now my recruiter said he got a call from MEPS, stating that it was not cleared up completely, that I still had some community service hours, I had to complete. My recruiters are trying to see what they can do. Could I be discharched from joining the Navy, now? ....................... (original charge:Theft Under $300)

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives.

A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of the people. Only a small "inside" group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few, at the expense of the very many. Out of war a few people make huge fortunes.

I'm reading Mein Kampf and am not surprised at his loathing for "the Jew." Was perplexes me is, aside from the politics of the era, why was he so successful in generating such enmity towards Jews?

I was more than a little surprised to read those words in a Liberal newspaper. It was NOT a story about an incident of racism! I have watched for several days now and I have not heard the first complaint about it. Some how, I feel that a conservative newspaper or magazine would have been scandalized all over the media for days.
Maybe black people don't mind if Liberals use racist language, just if conservatives do?

The U.S. Navy Centroid Facility is located just north of US 50 to the east of Fallon, NV. The area may be known as 'Frenchman' and is possibly in the Naval Reservation shown at the following URL.

http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&om=1&z=13&ll=39.286483,-118.23967&spn=0.118116,0.206509

I drove past on Sunday and there's a sign pointing to the north, if you switch that map to a satellite view you can see buildings in the middle of the area north of the road. Now it may simply be the geometric center of that test area. In any case Google doesn't have anything interesting on the subject.

The facility south of the road is a target range, those aren't active facilities or flying aircraft. Fallon, NV is the current home of Top Gun, so the Navy does have reason to be way over here in Nevada.

It doesn't affect me but i was told that starting with the freshman the age to get your licence was bumped up. Do they get their permit later too? or do they just have to have their permits for a year and a half now? For me i am able to get my permit at 16 and a half, ciderella licence at 17 and full licence at 18. i was told that the freshman can't even get their cinderella till 18. Wondering how this will affect my sister.

Hello. I was in a 4 car pile up. I was car #2. Car #4 was cited for the accident, and has paid for the car. I have back injuy and leg numbness. They have not diaganosed me yet. I hired an attorney. He said that will multiple cars, sometimes it takes awhile to settle, due to that. I have been out of work for 2 months now. I can hardly walk. i am in physical therpay and am awaitng an MRI. I am not worried about the money, but my medical bills are piling up, and my attorny suggested i wait to pay them until we reach settlement, to elimnate multiple insurances. Does any one know how long this may take to settle? Also, will the settlement cover all medical expenses, and time missed from work. I cant even get out of bed, and am on a lap top in bed. Does anyone know how pain and suffering work? Also, what kind of settlement is appropriate, i was told by my attorny not to settle on any amount. How do i know? I am only 25 and not sure how this works... Please help!

He praises Rumsfield now he is HIGHLY critical of him. The above is more of a rhetorical question, but why do so many people REFUSE to see the REAL problem with our govenrment, POLITICIANS?!?!?

Did anyone see the South Park where the Family Guy staff was going to show Muhammed on their shows, and the Muslims got outrages, and Bush was defending the 1st ammendment?

It got me thinking: what is the right course of action in this scenario:

The Islamic faith forbids using Muhammed's image in any media, for any purpose. But we have freedom of speech in the US, and showing Muhamed serving a sandwich really isn't 'bad' per se. So which rule takes precedence? Or is it that one rule is unfair, and if so, which one?

My partners parents split up about 11yrs ago, my partner stayed with his father and his sister with her mother. My partner then had to start paying the mortgage as his mother was taking them to the cleaners. Anyway the 'deal' between his father and himself was that when he died the house would become my partners since he paid the mortgage for about 10yrs. Unfortunately his dad died just over a yr ago and we have just moved into the said house. In his dads will my partner was to get the house and all its belongings and his sister was to get £200. My partner told his sis that she could take what she wanted and by golly she ransacked the house. Now his mother and sis are no longer talking to us and our son as they think my partner should be generous and give his sis half the house or alot of money, what would you do, legally he is entitled to the lot but morally where would you stand?

Our school district (like many others in Michigan) is in serious financial trouble. We are closing schools, laying off teacher, and staff, increasing class sizes. Meanwhile our teacher don't pay anything toward their own medical benefits. Is this right?
